He should of talked about how the tunnel is used today... Did they seal it off or is it still operational?

After they used a tunnel boring machine ("Excalibore") in 1995? to dig a larger diameter tunnel for double stack rail cars they filled in the old tunnel with sand.

So was I, I climbed through the head of the TBM an illegal alien in Port Huron, my passport was back home in Sarnia. My job on the CN tunnel was Senior Inspector of Works employed by Mott Hatch a Brit/Canadian firm of consultant engineers. Who did the design work and supervision for CN Railroads. PS. Both the US and Canadian Immigration let me back into Sarnia when they asked me how I got into the US. " I helped dig a Tunnel"

The Bends a problem? I don't think so. The tunnel isn't deep enough or under pressure.

The issue was the air pressure they forced into the tunnel to hold back the seepage. Yes it was under pressure.
