I was quite interested on how momentum strategies are working out taking a cryptocurrency universe instead of a stock market universe. These are the first results. If you are interested in getting more in depth or even let a bot follow this approach let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for another great video, sir you are requested to please make a video on renko chart trading, the strategy is that Renko brick size is half the atr of 14 periods and macd gives the sign of sale or purchase signal, and rsi above 50 when purchasing and below 50 when u are selling, so pls create this video that no video on Renko chart trading on youtube and it will be very interesting , also backtest it for minimum 5 year period

An ambitious but very useful improvement would be dynamically screening for the top n coins by market cap dependent on time and only including them in the analysis. This makes sense as you would wanna minimize slippage. Even with a few thousands of euros you will have market impact on illiquid coins. I believe ive read somewhere that momentum works better in illiquid assets as it isnt being arbitraged away as much. Love the channel, youre teaching me a lot, greetings from Mannheim

Also equity curves for the respective time-frames, compared with BTC performance would have been nice. Its just a few lines of code (as you already have the respective return series) but would be very useful in evaluating the strategy.

Cool answer bro. But these video's are not to be used directly as a bot but to educate on using Python with Binance and explaining concepts. If you pick any of the video's on bots he makes and just use that you deserve to lose your money. But I thought that was obvious already.

Can anybody help me out with a question about fees? On binance, I have a 1.8% fee to deposit and a 1% fee to withdraw. I understand there's a 0.5% fee to buy and sell coins as well. Adding all that up, I have to make some pretty outstanding profits in my trades for it all to be worth it. Am I missing something? Thanks
@Algovibes
2 жыл бұрын
I mean IF you WOULD deposit and withdraw every trade that you made that would indeed be a problem but you are usually trading with your current assets. I am always trading and store the profits in a stable coin like USDT. That doesn't mean I recommend doing that but this is how it is usually working.

Hello Sir, I am trying to implement symmetrical triangle trading strategy in python? can you please tell me where to start? or sources to get started from?
@Algovibes

Hi mate, that would be indeed a quite challenging coding task. I didn't do something like that yet but I would start by asking myself how can I describe in numbers how the time series looks like in the triangle case.

Hey I'm wondering of there is a possibility to do something like a HMI screen for a python code? I mean that we'll just have executable buttons instead of playing the cells, basically like a small app so we can run our code without needing to see it deeply? I'd love something like that since I use some testing/plotting code at work.

first these are all toy bots, you have a version of a combat bot that analyzes its results and changes its strategy, do you think this is possible?

congrats on being first😛 I honestly do not get what you are talking about. I literally just posted the whole trading log of a live trading bot and have multiple videos on actual traded strategies. The second question is a good one tho: A self optimizing bot would be a very interesting thing indeed.

I noticed that the kline info received does not match the numbers on the binance website. I searched a bit and the reason she to be because of timezones difference. Binance uses utc while I'm on utc -4. It's it possible to call the api with the correct utc zone?
@wickedgummybear3104
2 жыл бұрын
No, all data you recieve from binance will always be UTC.. So either work in your app only with UTC (as I did) or make a small conversion when transferring it to your dataframe. Both wouldnt be hard to do. But I find it easier to just work with UTC throughout the app. Makes it easier to not make mistakes.
@Algovibes
2 жыл бұрын
Agreed on Wicked Gummy Bear, thanks a lot for supporting me man. You can just convert your timezone to the UTC using a simple pandas command. I actually did that in one of my videos in the cryptobot playlist but I don't remember which one exactly.

Can someone help me with this error? In the def gethourlydata(symbol, interval, lookback, historical): I adapted it to have both the historical and recent klines. if historical: frame = pd.DataFrame(client.get_historical_klines(symbol, interval, lookback + 'min ago UTC')) else: x = {'symbol': symbol} y = {'interval': interval} try: frame = client.get_klines(**x, **y) except BinanceAPIException as e: # error handling goes here print(e) except BinanceOrderException as e: # error handling goes here print(e) except Exception as e: print(e) The client.get_klines(**x, **y) gets called every second. It works well but after some time it errors out with: [WinError 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host Also the error is not caught by the BinanceExceptions but by exception which seems to indicate its not a Binance problem. Anyone know how I can fix this so that it reestablishes a connection and doesnt stop the code?
