You are doing amazing! No one really sits and chats about the hard stuff. Nursing can be hard, a needy (colic/reflux) baby can be super hard! So hard that you question your ability as a mother. Just know that you've got this! Your instincts are always correct and you and Charlotte will figure it out together. It's a new relationship. You are both figuring it out together. :) my kids are 12 and 7 now but I've been right where you are. Make sure to take at least an hour a day for yourself and your sanity!! Take a bath, meditate, whatever calms you. You need it to reset your nerves and be the best mommy you can be. 😉 Cheers!!

Babywearing suggestion- Ease off on buying wraps maybe- once they get close to 4 months or so my babies were getting bigger and could hold their heads up well enough so they lived the Ergo much more. And the muslin blankets are awesome for summer as a thin blankie in the stroller or to cover them from the sun without baking them.

If the reflux continues consider taking her to a chiropractor. Three of my grandsons have benefited from the adjustments. The oldest grandson had severe reflux. They changed formulas, and he ended up on two kinds of prescription meds. After he started on chiropractic therapy he was off both meds in about a week. As things got under control he had to go less often. He started these when he was about 14 months old. Wish he had started sooner. His two brothers started when they were probably less than a month old and had to have very few treatments.

I am so glad you're babywearing! It really is the most wonderful thing - being so close to your baby and baby so close to you. One thing about stretchy wraps - I found them to not be so comfortable once baby got to be about 15 pounds. I know the recommendations for those wraps say they're good for up to 30-35 pounds but while that's the limits of the fabric, that doesn't mean it's comfortable for both baby and wearer. Those stretchy wraps tend to stretch out because of the weight of the baby and it's a pain to have to keep tightening every few minutes to get them snug again. It was at that point that I moved on to woven wraps and buckle carriers (Ergo, etc.). There is such a huge babywearing community on KZitem and lots of tutorials on all sorts of wraps and carriers. One KZitemr I absolutely LOVE watching is WrapYouInLove. She's very thorough and is wonderful at explaining what she is doing. Sending love from Ohio! Xoxo

I have a 5 and half month old, I remember that 6 week growth spirit still to this day! I had the same emotions as you... And the constant feeding! I was so worried I was over feeding her, or that I wasn't producing enough, oh the emotionally roller coaster! You're getting ready to enter the fun stages of a new born! When they start using their hands, and noticing everything around them. My only advice would be to enjoy every second, it goes by so fast. Even though that 6 week mark was tough, I'd give anything to go back and have my precious Addi be that small again! Now she's trying to crawl, sit up, and eat baby food, all in the blink of an eye it seems.

Skip the moby. Don't get another ktan. All of the stretchy wraps will lose support every day as she keeps gaining weight. I kept watching, so I'm commenting again. I can't say enough about a handwoven. If you don't want to invest yet, get a machine woven.

+Pretty Neat Living maya wrap isn't the same as a woven wrap. A woven wrap is a long fabric, usually shorter than the moby that is NOT stretchy, so you're able to do a multitude of carries. Look on KZitem for front wrap cross carry for newborn in woven wrap. You'll see, super secure carry and way more comfortable on your back.

I haven't finished watching the video yet, but I wanted to mention it before I forgot, I highly recommend transitioning to a woven wrap as she gets bigger. Many moms find that stretchy carriers and wraps aren't as comfortable and supportive by around 15lbs. Also, look for a babywearing group in your area if you're not already a member of one. I admin my local Facebook-based group and have learned so much over the years and really just adore the community! We also have a lending library that members can borrow carriers from to test out for a month to decide if it's something they would like to buy. Groups like mine exist all over the country and around the world but don't often get a lot of attention, so you have to seek them out. And, finally, Jan from Sleeping Baby Productions has a terrific "ring sling troubleshooting" video here on KZitem and BabywearingFaith has many wonderful ring sling videos as well. Hope you don't mind the tips! Happy babywearing!
@BobbyandKenzie

Just to clarify, I don't mean to imply that there is anything wrong with stretchy carriers! They are terrific for newborns but can be outgrown quickly. Woven wraps are suitable into toddlerhood though and are perfect once you've mastered the stretchy wraps and especially once you're ready to move on to back carries. Natibaby, Didymos, Lenny Lamb, Little Frog, Oscha and Fidella are some brands that make wonderful, reasonably priced wovens but there are so many more from low end all the way to gorgeous, handwoven, high end wraps makers. Again, best wishes! ❤️

I'm so sorry to hear about that long patch of being lost or overwhelmed for such a significant part of your babie's life so far. So many women go through it though, it's linked to loneliness and isolation which happens after you have a baby and spend so much time inside and alone with the baby as new mothers do. You should reach out to other mothers in your neighborhood, or friends with or without children, your own mother and you could cut the time it takes to get over it. The same thing can happen, the isolation and loneliness when they are 1 or 2 ect and you spend all day with no adult conversation. Don't forget to reach out for human contact too if this happens again, not just electronic.

I remember first few months with my he would just not sleep at night until 5 am and barely napped. Went through an extremely rough time .. Later found out he had a really bad eczema which was not visible to the eyes, plus he was extremely colicky. I also struggled a lot with breast feeding and my son just couldn't latch on.. Tried so hard but he wasn't gaining enough weight and had to be put under the lights for jaundice within first few days after his birth. He had to be fed well in order to get better so I panicked and gave formula milk. Which further dnt help with colic. Can totally relate to being a first time mommy and feeling overwhelmed. Just hang in there and go with what you think is best for your child :)

What may be helpful to some is to time stamp each spot where you discuss each item then people could skip to the area they are interested in hearing about. We do that in our channel and it seems to help with long videos that some people complain are too long to get through...just a suggestion if you might think about. It has been a good addition to our videos.

Hi Jen! I LOVE that you baby wear! My son is just over a year and we love baby wearing! There is such an abundance of information I don't want to overwhelm you but I highly suggest looking into if your area has a baby wearing Facebook page. My area does and most do. Super awesome way to get information, advice and make friends in the baby wearing community! We've used it all from the Solly to ring slings to soft structured carriers to woven wraps! (Woven wraps are our favorite!) I'll share my favorite brands and resources below. For ring slings, you may find you and CC like something a little thinner and without a padded shoulder. I love MyWildBird and Sakura ring slings. A single layer would be perfect for you guys but a double would be great too. For soft structured or buckle carriers, we've really enjoyed Tulas and Kinderpacks. Tula has a selection on their website, you'd need a standard sized. Kinderpacks are only stocked on Thursdays and the stocking is incredibly competit "

You should try the boba carrier for when she's older. I have used mine when my daughter was 6 months all the way to know, she's 18 months now. I love it and she loves it 😊

I'm a huge Ergo fan. I have a bad back and need the structure of that carrier. You can get an infant insert. In another couple of weeks, she won't need one. I can wear an Ergo all day with a toddler on my front OR back and I have herniated discs. I can't do that with a K'Tan past about 4-6 mos. Sorry you're feeling so overwhelmed!

I swear by the Ergo! I spent all weekend at Disney with my 9 month in it and we did great!
