I so wish you were in DFW area Texas. I think you would be the doctor that puts us at ease. I had gastric sleeve in 2014, lost nearly 70 pounds but gradually gained back up to 209 by September 2022. My doctor was concerned about my A1c of 9.6 and started me on Mounjaro one year ago. My A1c had dropped down to 5.5 and I now weigh 140ish. (Variable of only two to three pounds since weight loss by June this year.) I have major loose skin around the abdomen of course, but the most uncomfortable area is the saggy buttocks making sitting a challenge. My “sit” bones hurt as well as the tail bone. I feel like I need a complete overhaul. My arms wave like flags and the legs droop just as much. I asked my primary physician if I was too old for skin removal, her response was as long I am continuing good health levels she has no problem with it. My grown son wanted me to wait to make sure I was maintaining for 6 to 9 months. My diabetes is truly under control and I am thinking of surgery as a long term investment in my comfort. Looks is really not my priority but would love to feel good in my body. Btw, I am 66 as of today. So I am thinking Happy Birthday to me. Would most doctors feel comfortable working on someone my age?

Happy Birthday! Congratulations on your weight loss and maintenance! Your primary care doctor is spot on, your DM is controlled and you are healthy, no reason not to get rid of the excess skin. There are many great plastic surgeons in the DFW area and I'm sure you will find your perfect fit surgeon!

Is there any functional difference between a lower body lift and a circumferential tummy tuck or is it 2 names for the same thing?

Hi Jessica! Great question! Yes, just two ways of saying the same thing :)

Another question - my lower body lift and breastlift are scheduled for the end of the year and I'm curious how long I'd need to take off from work to heal before returning to work. I work in an office (hybrid employee)

Hi Jessica, I would recommend 3-4 weeks completely off work if you can swing it. You will likely feel okay working from home (standing) 10-14 days post op but it's always better to take more time than you need vs going back too soon.
