In this episode of Mondays at Mirai, Ryan whisks about the garden participating in the classic bonsai shuffle of moving one tree at as time as he prepares the property for some exciting new construction.
Coffee in hand, Ryan descends from the office to check in on his trees with a thorough garden walk through while camera man Josh tails behind. With his home now stripped, Ryan is pumped to get the ball rolling remolding his home for this next decade of Mirai. Returning to the roots of all things Mirai, Ryan and his garden team put in some elbow grease to move trees to benches, stabilize a massive juniper composition, and attend to the general maintenance of a garden in a wet winter season that is classic to the Pacific Northwest. Pushing the bounds of asymmetry as always, Ryan's trees carefully sit on the precipice of imbalance, drawing the eye to stunning irregularity. Despite grey skies and a slick, wet topcoat on the garden, just the slightest sliver of sunlight has the power to generate so much new growth.
