Hi, if im going to access the db with mongo and not using the --auth flag, it just lets me go in and see all the db's and users. how to prevent that? this is the reason we create an admin user right? to prevent anyone from access the databases. but this happens only when we type the --auth flag. if anyone tries to access the database without specify that --auth flag he gets access. whats the point then? on production how this will work? am I missing something? Hi Balaji, thanks for watching. Depends on which database you created this new user. When you create a user, you are creating the user in a particular database although you are assigning privileges on other databases like test, reporting. It could have gone wrong some where when we created the user. You might have created it in a different database.
