Working at the intersection of history, architecture and community for the last 15 years, Monica is among the 1% of the academically-trained Black cultural preservationists in the country. After developing programs at two of the largest national organizations, focused on preservation and national parks, Monica received the 2022 Loeb Fellowship at Harvard University and the 2023 Adele Chatfield Taylor Rome Prize in Historic Preservation and Conservation - two of the most prestigious awards in the field. She's directed preservation activities in 46 states, led projects in 100+ national parks, raised and managed over $150M and created a program that received 1B media impressions.
