I drive a Kymco LIKE. It doesn't have a kick-starter - which is a positive. I have 3 ways my machine is disabled. (1) I inserted a series on/off switch in the starter line; (2) I located a connector that, when opened up, prevents the engine from starting. I don't where the connector is electrically located, I simply opened up the engine compartment and opened up every connector 1 at a time until I found one that that killed the engine; (3) I attached an RFID receiver to the bike, inserted the NORMALLY OPEN contacts in the ignition wire. Although my receiver is under the 'dashboard', any place where it's use is inconspicuous is good. When I approach the bike, the receiver detects my presence and enables the ignition. The switch options (1)(2) are for easy access or somewhere such as the locking glove box, just make sure their operation isn't too obvious. When I am staying in a hotel with outside parking I use the two switches AND thread a stainless steel chain through my rear wheel. It is made of 4 mm chain links. A RFID system (Chinese) costs about $15 (with a couple of FOBS). Don't think this is overkill, few countries are worse than Laos for theft. Your security is time and noise,. Every lock, every chain, every device delays the thief and when sound is added delay is another step to keeping your property.

Hi Palvin, I have being following you for some time and really like your videos. I was looking for a GPS tracker and this review helped me deciding for Monimoto. I live in Mexico. The SIM card that comes with Monimoto does not work outside of Europe or US which is a bit of an issue if you travel internationally. I tried with 3 SIM cards, one Mexican, one Chinese and one Argentinean. Non of them worked. People at Monimoto where very helpful and at the end advised me to return it. I thought you would like to know. Shame, it’s exactly the product I was looking for, they just need to work on sim compatibility.

All Monimoto devices use a SIM card. In a review, they said it would work with any other SIM. Otherwise, after first two months of free usage you must pay a subscription. The cheapest would be to buy a two year subscription, fo 65 euros, or 39 euros, for one year.

I have invented perfect protection. You have to hide under covers unprotected grenade. 100% efficiency. Yes, they will steal your motorcycle but next day you will read about thieves in newspaper. By the way, you will eliminate thieve's garage. Motorcycle lost? What is insurance for? Just buy brand new one. It's up to you to decide whether it will be a defensive grenade or an offensive grenade. ;-)

Not very convincing.

I read somewhere that the SIM card that comes with de device has a 3€/month subscription for all the EU, but, can I put away that SIM card and insert a SIM card from a portuguese or spanish operator? @@motorcycleadventures After my bike has been stolen Monimoto was unable to locate the exact location and bike was on the move. It just randomly showed locations which were even 10 minutes old, thieves can get very far in 10 minutes. (Setting was on highest sensitivity) I am very paranoid about theft as they steal bikes a lot. After they just hid it, that means no GPS signal. And I would say 1 hour is more than enough to find the tracker anywhere on the bike as there is not many options as in the car. You can be very creative to hide it but you will find it with the tools if you looking for it. I think a better solution is a subscribed tracker with 24/7 operator monitored service with RF antenna when GPS signal is gone. They can see the speed of the device in real-time and even get police support. You sleep, they watch. With Monimoto if you at work for instance and do not have a phone on you or phone just discharge etc.. etc.. you screwed when they stealing your bike and you do not have a phone on you 24/7. And even Monimoto set itself of without a reason randomly. Discussed this with the company even and from my experience stay away from Monimoto if your bike gets stolen and you want it back.
