The fact that she kept his letter and posted in by her workstation is one of the most wholesome things about this scene. People in jobs like this rarely, if ever, receive any words of encouragement or appreciation, and the fact that she kept this shows how much Adrian's words meant to her.

You can tell the school one is from an earlier season by how weirdly hostile Stottlemeyer is to having Monk involved at all.
@andrewsuryali8540

It's not that consistent. A lot of times in the early part of the series he was perfectly happy to get Monk involved, and conversely unhappy later on whenever he realized he would have to cater to Monk's special needs. In this one he's a bit hostile because he'd already reached a conclusion before Monk arrived, but he's also okay with it being overturned.

15:35 -- Monk is wrong about the "whoever/whomever." The note begins, "To whomever." The word "to" is a preposition here, with "whomever" being the object of the preposition, and thus in the objective case: whomever. The writers flubbed and NOBODY caught it.

@@invertedexistence Tell that to Monk. He would not find this grammatical error acceptable. But what really makes it egregious is that it is supposed to be a correction of someone else's grammar. Not if, as shown during the "how it happened" moment, he struck her from behind hard enough to knock her out or kill her instantly before she had a chance to react. You can't struggle if you're unconscious or dead. Without defensive wounds (such as bruises on the knuckles, or skin beneath the fingernails) any injury could reasonably be assumed to have been a result of the fall.

it is to whomever ... not to whoever... the note says "to whomever i may have hurt" meaning the person known or unknown who received the hurt. If the pronoun is functioning as the subject, meaning it is performing the verb, use “to whoever”. whoever stole my yoghurt If the pronoun is functioning as the object, meaning it is the recipient of the verb or the object of the preposition, use “to whomever” . to whomever i hit. receiving the action... SO Monk is wrong, the note is written correctly the whomever receives the hurt from the writer of the note.
