Is this dude for real? So much dis-information in this video. He states his perceptions as if they are facts. Netflix didn’t sell it, Jordan Peele loved the movie so much that he bought it from Netflix to release it in Theatres. The movie shows an imaginary world, with elements of India. Like India’s Gotham. This movie represents perseverance, resilience, struggle, rebounds, speaking against evil and much more. Even the whole filming and making of this movie is inspiring for many!

I didn't need any more warning than Dev Patel. He has played The Green Knight from English 14th century fiction/mythology. Stared as David Copperfield in Dickensian England. He didn't think his role set in India should have been played by a sub Saharan African? Strange that, isn't it? Those who brought us Dev Patel as David Copperfield decided that there was no need for race swapping when it came to portraying Russian monsters in The Death of Starlin. That was strange too.

Dear George, I'm a 64 year old disabled white woman with stage 5 kidney disease. I don't go to the movies to see myself represented because I live this life every freaking day. Going to see a movie was NEVER about me seeing me up on the big screen, but, about getting away from reality for just a little while. I'm blessed with an imagination that let me see myself as part of the magic, part of the adventure, of whatever movie I watched. I can't do that anymore because, the movies that are made now are devoid of imagination, devoid of charm, devoid of life. Simply not fit to watch. My husband and I don't go to the movies anymore because of this. We watch the old stuff we grew up with and we're content with that.

I entirely understand.. I don't want to see a 73 yr old widow., lonely as heck, eating break fest at her computer, because she can't bear to eat anywhere else. I watch movies to escape the miseries of life. I want to see Superman lift an island into orbit or James T Kirk outwit an AI computer that has stagnate a civilization for millennia. Hope you get well. Sorry to hear about your illness. I've bought DVDS of Superman, Man from UNCLE and Wild Wild West, recently.... escapism at its best.

What’s ugly is your ignorance. Typical of Americans. The Hijra community is an ancient part of Indian society and have always been around. Sorry, George. I have to disagree with you on this. And see you eat live bees, as per your headline one day👌🤌George, you forgot to research & mention the reason Netflix (India) dropped Monkey Man - it was the portrayal of the fictional right-wing Hindu Nationalist character a.k.a. the holy-guru-cum-mob-boss Baba Sakthi in the film that worried Netflix about their future dealings in India. Second, Dev Patel seems almost too perfect with his action scenes? That is because of his background as a black-belter ITF/Chang Hon-style Taekwondo martial artist, which influences a lot of his stylized moves there. Third, many Hollywood movies has lost its sense of its roots history, so how you expect Hollywood to appreciate its 5,000 year old Hanuman from Ramayana epic tale explored in Monkey Man? In fact, Hollywood is too busy thrashing its Golden Era history for Wokeness now. Monkey Man at least tried to not be too Hollywood-woke. Contrary to your opinion, I very much believed Monkey Man started strong, maintained its tension till climax at the story's Diwali (Festival of Lights) time where both villain & avenger came face to face. Yeah sure, the transgender community was inserted to go along the lines of wokeness a bit. But the wokeness theme never overshadowed the entire movie. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU SKIP/FORGET/IGNORE ALL PRESS TOUR INTERVIEWS Dev Petel & others went through - all of those are blinding you to its well-directed & crafted direction by Patel.
