This is a quick review of my Monroe Quick Strut install. My 2003 Ford Expedition needed new struts. I still had the originals on and it was like driving a boat. After getting some bids for replacement from local shops I decided to do it myself. The bids were from $1200-$1400. I purchased the Monroe Quick Struts from Amazon for $450. Instead of paying nearly a thousand more for someone else to do it I did it myself. I had to invest in a few tools I was missing but who doesn't love getting new tools? After the job was done I had to pay a shop to do an alignment which cost $80.
Overall I am very pleased with the results. The shocks work fantastic and I saved a ton of cash. During this job I replaced my front sway bar links that were bad. Initially I planned on showing the job start to finish but ran into some problems. Since the car is a 2003 and they were the original struts I had to deal with seized bolts. I got them off with a combination of penetrating oil, propane torch, and a hammer. If not for those problems I would have showed the full video. If your bolts are not seized the job is very easy. It only requires a few bolts removed to complete. I hope you get some benefit from this video. The Monroe Quick Struts are a simple upgrade if you need new shocks or struts.
