This bee hive certainly makes it onto my "monster" bee hive removal list. I never really know how big a hive is until I get a reading from my thermal camera, and when I saw this reading, I was impressed.
After finally getting the boards and battens off the shed, where is Wreck it Ralph when I really need him, the hive was fully exposed and you could see just how magnificent a hive it was. Lots of bees, comb, and a ton of honey. Well, maybe not a ton, but it was a lot.
Initially, the bees were not open to the idea of being relocated and I did have to smoke them to calm them down, but once the removal began they started to cooperated and I was no longer stung. With the help of Stan the Man, and Good Time Charlie we made short work of a large hive. The comb and bees were then moved over to Stan's house where they are doing fine.
Temperatures were predicted to reach the high 90's for the day, but due to our early morning start, we were out of there before it got to hot. Unfortunately, this was only the first removal we did for the day. The video that I posted last week was the second one we did that day, and by the time we finished that one, it was VERY hot.
Well, I hope you enjoy watching the adventure, and I can not express my gratitude to all who spend their time watching our antics. Until the next one, God's peace to all. Mr. Ed
