More than a video game for entertainment purposes, this game taught me one harsh reality that is inevitable, that we would all go the same way as these monsters do (unless you freeze and combine them). Without me knowing it, this was my first life’s lesson about life and death.

When my crab saurian died as a kid I legit cried. His funeral was long becuase so many different people came by. Plus he helped me get a phoenix for the first time. Beat monster I ever had.

I rented this game for a week when I was little and had no idea monsters could die. I was so sad I ended up getting the same monster and giving it the same name, and then I shut the game off and didn't play it at all the last three days of my rental. 🥺

I remember my first monster death was a Tiger/Hare. Didn't know about fatigue/stress and food values at that time so i just let him rest when he's tired, no nuts oil or mint leaf. His favourite food was a potato so i figured this was the only thing I should give him. So yeah, he died before reaching his adult stage. After that, i did alot of research/readings online on how to raise a monster properly. Went through a couple of forums and text guides made from notepad before producing a decent monster.

Poor Kasumi she missed out on being frozen alive and combined with a monster to create a chimera hybrid in a freakish full metal alchemist type experiment.

XD and that's exactly what I did with my Suezo. I combined him with Tiger and created Mono Eye and he was a damn good fighter.

I was around 10-11 when my very first Zuum died. Without knowing my dad would pass out because of a terrible tumor some months after... That's a moment in this game i closed in the backside of my memories because too difficult to digest, although it teaches reality of life. Curious fact, I own an OC named Coltia, very much resembling the original one. And she gets introduced during the mourning of her last monster... :(

Old age, not taking care of the monster properly as in stress levels too high, overworking it it (fatigue too high), getting K.O too many times

And this is where the franchise is not that relevant anymore it's still good but Jesus guys stop being so damn strict on your game nobody wants a difficult consequence
@rubynall80
3 жыл бұрын
The game is strict because it doesn't want you to get attached to your monster. It wants you to get stronger monsters by combining them (just before death) with other monsters so that its genes can pass on, and you can get a monster with stronger stats.

That's what sets it a part from your run of the mill monster tamer game though, you have to manage the limited time that you have with your monster effectively, if you want to rise above the ranks. While I can see it not being for everyone, it's a change from just mindlessly plowing through the competition with an over-leveled mon.
