Love the side note box, such a great way to summarize and deliver the (very rich) information in a concize way. I'm hoping to bring a cutting to my Brazilian home plant a dubia in the garden and see her grow and fenestrate.

Thanks Claire I find all you videos so helpful. And I'm taking full advantage of the code you shared recently for House of Kojo. I'm blaming you for the increase in my plant collection (thank you) x

Beautiful plant. I love shingling plants. Something very elegant about them to my eye. I actually just got a R. HIYA start. I like how the leaves will stay fairly consistent in size as it slowly climbs the plank.

I have a baby one that I got a month ago. I could not find one ANYWHERE. Had to order it. Kind of expensive so I had to get one that is so small I need a magnifying glass to see. I think it's still alive. Now I need a plank. I'm going to use the one you have, not the plastic one that has to be filled with dirt.....and I may use the push pins too. I did notice your top leaves don't seem to lie flat on the plant as the leaves near the bottom, but that must be ok since it's so healthy and happy looking. Wish me luck!

Hi Claire, I just found you as I was researching info about the monstera dubia. Someone gave me a tiny cutting a few months ago which I placed in water. After a while it developed roots and I've planted it in a small clay pot. Now I have another tiny cutting from the same place and I'm wondering if I should put it right into the soil of the other pot or start it in water as I did the other. Thanks for your guidance. I hope that I will be successful with this plant as it's beautiful and they are quite expensive. I was thrilled to receive the piece that was just going to be tossed away, and now I'm growing it!

Hi Claire, I'm just starting out with house plants and thoroughly enjoy your channel, lots of great information. Would you say the Dubai is a good starter plant and would it be happy in a bathroom?

Hi Claire! Awesome video this is one of me wishlist plants! You were speaking about the different types of water that can be used, I’m currently in the states in Maryland fairly close to New York so I know our tap water here is not good to use so I buy lots of distilled water however talking to my mom last night about her plants (that are growing like weeds😮) she said she uses spring water is that another good option as well?

Amazing thanks for this video 🥰. If you live in a hard water area is filtered tap water through a brita filter jug okay? Or is that bad for the plants 🪴? Xx

Hi. Thanks for this (and all other) video. I've learned a lot with them ☺About this one, are you not worried about the wood plank rotting with time? Being "submersed" in the soil and taking in the water when you water the plant? Or getting "moldy" with the humidity? Thanks ☺

I guess that is something to think about, and I'm sure it would eventually break down over a long period of time. So far I haven't had any issues, but when I come to repot eventually I might consider putting some kind of plastic coating over the base of the plank... 💚

Hi Clare I got one out of the reduced section at a bargain price it was on the standard support you tend to see,how can I take it off that without breaking it to put on a new plank,it's growing past the brown support it come with now

Updated from a year ago: My Dubia on the 4' plank has overgrown up and up over the plank. I now don't know what to do with it. I would like to put another plank beside this one, then upwind her, rewind her around both planks. But can I do that without killing Dubia? She is NOT attached very well to the plank. I used push pins to direct her and few pieces of tape to convince her to stick to the plank. Anyone have suggestions besides cutting a hole in the ceiling?

Jan2023, Hi Claire, Love your videos, I wonder if you can advise me? My dubia has got 8 good leaves from the bottom then 3 stunted leaves, then continues with 3 more increasing in size, perfect leaves. I bought this at the damaged leaf stage (it was discounted), but I would like to chop at that point to get an improved look. Can I propagate the top half as one, or do I need to propogate the individual leaves with nodes? Then what will happen to the bottom existing half? Will it branch? Thank you if you can advise. Karin xx
