I was gifted this pen when I retired-and I love it!

Good review. There is nothing quite like an SBRE Brown review to set things back right with the world. Ah!

I bought my very first pen Faber Castell Ondoro after watching a review by you. That was long time ago. I still love to hear the nusic intro and your reviews. Thank you ! ❤ from London J.

Nice video like always. Just wanna point out one thing. idk if it is something special only for the double broad nib, but the one I got comes with a 14k fine nib instead of 18k. Happy holidays, guys.

yeah it's 14K nib, it's not only for BB nibs.

I have a Kaweco Sport with a double broad nib. I do worry about a double broad nib on a large pen being a fire hydrant? That is a very impressive nib. I shall have to get one for the collection.

A lovely pen, but I understand Mont Blanc fps are difficult to clean and dry prior to their being stored. Also, greasing the piston - from what I understand - is very difficult. Great video.

From someone brought up in the USA: it is a paddlesteamer (cf: "radar boat"). Great review of an interesting pen - thank you! 😊

In polite company one should just refer to it as “one of those boats with the wheel on the side.”

Thanks for the review. You've said in the past that you don't need a Montblanc in your collection. Is this still the case?

As always: came for the review, stayed for the dad jokes. It seems Montblanc were able to contain themselves when designing this pen. It is rather subtle, something I miss a lot in some of their current designs. They still do know how to make nice writers though.

The brownish black lacquer with a gold cap looks nicer.

Personally, I could have done without the steam boat or at least without white fill on the engraving and sadly they gave us a black finial on an otherwise indigo pen, either because producing a pen-colored snowcap wasn’t in the budget or for "branding integrity" reasons. The 149 Orient Eexpress LE 1883 did have had a pen-colored snowcap but also, again, white line-artwork on the cap, sigh.

Some in the writers series are a bit over the top. That said I have 3 in my collection: Oscar Wilde Edgar Alan Poe Voltaire All are beautiful. All are beautifully made.

I do agree that many of Montblanc's special editions seem to overdo the representation. Having things presented in a more subtle way keeps things classy and elegant.

This fountain pen is not suitable with Bruce Wayne in the Batman suit, Dark, deep, Gothic, grim indulged with Beethoven or Goethe look, too flashy for Being a pen not the Batman behind Mask, it hides the Batman. The human behind the Meisterstuck the Architect from MatrixBlanc.
