Montenegro conquered with its nature forever. Budva is a city in Montenegro, located in the central part of the Adriatic coast of the country. The city is the center of the municipal district of the same name. Budva was founded 2500 years ago, is one of the most ancient settlements on the shores of the Adriatic Sea.
Budva and its surroundings form the Budva Riviera - the largest tourist center in Montenegro, famous for its beaches, nightlife and beautiful examples of Mediterranean architecture.
Sveti Stefan is a resort village and an island in the community of Budva - a visiting card of Montenegro.
For the first time, Sveti Stefan is mentioned in the chronicles of 1442, when the inhabitants of the local community of Pashtrovichi stood in the way of the Ottomans, who were returning from a successful raid on Kotor. After the victory over the Ottomans and the seizure of the goods they had stolen, it was decided to erect a church and a fortress on the island in honor of Stephen the First Martyr.
Originally a fishing village, the village of Sveti Stefan became an important trading center and transport hub during the Venetian Republic. At the beginning of the 19th century, there were 100 houses and more than 400 inhabitants[5]. A century later, due to the economic crisis, the island city began to decline. In 1955, its last 20 inhabitants were relocated to the mainland, and the island itself was turned into a luxury resort complex. During the reconstruction, the appearance of the ancient buildings, of which there are about 80, was not damaged.
Holidays on the island of Sveti Stefan were popular among many celebrities: at one time the guests of the resort were Bobby Fischer, Carlo Ponti, Sophia Loren, Claudia Schiffer, Kirk Douglas, Sylvester Stallone and other famous people[10]. Soviet marshals S. K. Timoshenko, A. A. Grechko, I. I. Yakubovsky, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin stayed here!
Tivat, a small town in Montenegro, located on the shores of the Bay of Kotor, on the Vrmac peninsula, is one of the most famous in this former Yugoslav Republic. And not only because it is a port and ships under the flags of different states come here. And not even because it is considered, in fact, the air gate of the country: three kilometers away is the second most important international airport (Tivat Airport). The real popularity of Tivat was brought by its convenient geographical location, mild climate and wonderful beaches, which every year attract more and more vacationers under its gentle and warm sun.
Kotor is the administrative, cultural, religious, educational and economic center of Boka Kotorska.
Throughout the history of Kotor and the Bay of Kotor, the main occupation of the locals was navigation and overseas trade. Therefore, Kotor has become one of the most important trading centers in this part of the Adriatic coast. The city is home to the Maritime Museum of Montenegro, the Institute of Marine Biology, the Marine Faculty of the University of Montenegro, which grew out of a nautical school with a three-century history, the Association of Shipowners of Montenegro, and the Brotherhood of Sailors Bokelska Mornaritsa [2].
Due to the unique mixture of different cultures, the old town center of Kotor was included in the World Cultural Heritage List in 1979 under the auspices of UNESCO.
Many thanks to the management of the villa "Oak Leaf Residences" and especially to Mikhail for organizing the shooting!
