God is the measure of what is right and what is wrong. If we discount Him we place ourselves in the place of God. If we do that then morality becomes arbitrary. God bless

Everyone exercises faith in something. However, faith is only as good as the object of one's faith. Ultimately, either you have faith in the ideas of man or your have faith in the eternal, all powerful, all knowing, everywhere present, God. The latter is where my faith rests. If you trust in self then the object of your faith is a limited, dying, person. Hope this helps. God bless.

Maybe I am misunderstanding you. Are you trying to say there is a better way then preaching (Preaching includes proclamation to crowds and individuals)? If so do you have Scripture that affirms that way? The Gospel is always successful when proclaimed as it is the Lord who brings about salvation. To those who believe the Gospel is the aroma of life to those who do not it is the aroma of death. Either way the Gospel triumphs (2 Cor. 2:12-17). Anyway, thanks for your comments.

It means that the proclamation of the Gospel is successful because the Lord gives the increase. He calls His elect through the foolishness of the message preached (1 Cor. 1:21). Is there any other way besides the message preached?

don't get me wrong, open air preaching has to be one of the hardest things on earth to do. I would say that the love of god has covered people's sin(s). Someone that starts leaning on you about your problems, man I am not hanging around and listen to that. I have my own conviction that I carry around all the time. Your profile says your 46, so we are talking about a student of yours??? friend? brother? I just got a webcam today, do you allow instant posting of video comments.

I think you are trying to asset that the idea of God is dead which is also flawed because we would not be having this interaction if that were the case. In fact I would argue that we could not have this conversation at all without God's existence because He is the precondition for all things. On what basis are you asserting that God is dead? In Christ Love, openaircampaigners

You live by faith in things unseen. For example science is based on the uniformity of nature. Have you observed the totality of history to know that nature is uniform? Have you seen the future to know that nature is uniform. That means that science itself is based on faith. What reason the have for thinking that things are predictable in repeatable experiments? Do you have faith that science will work because blind natural forces and chaos plus chance are the source of the universe?
@gregory747

now i know what not to do. when timothy started about the sin, he lost all the hearers- everybody took off. that had the effect of scattering the people. there has to be a gentler approach on the subject of sin. you know like god knows a person's sins, that is between that person and god. I think the technique was to get people to confess that they sined, (confession)but before you get kind of personal with people there has to develope trust. how trustworthy is this street guy- who knows.

Thus you really do believe in god only you are him. Man is a sad substitute for god and in the end humankind is at fault for all the murder and war. Either man missuses religion and kills people in the name of God or they make themselves god and people rise up within that belief system and murder people. "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world" (James 1:27).

The English language like all languages are not possible without God. Your world view presupposes that all things are the result of "blind natural forces" of time plus chance equals everything. I do not know why you would expect languages and scientific disciplines to appear from such sources. You have to barrow from the Christian world view whose people know that logic, science, language, morals, love, etc. come from an orderly moral God not from nothing. Good luck with that OK?
