As a Street and Gigging musician ,playing small venues. All i can say is... the less weight you carry on your backs, the better. Its not the best amp models or effects. But its close enough for me. And in the future if this technology gets better. Absolutely welcome. About the guitar itself, wish they put a push/pull for coil splitting. Anyway . Its Good value for the money, Fender and Ibanez should be worried about this.

I'd choose the S800 by a longshot. That sparkly red finish is amazing, and I like the way the humbucker is covered. I can change out the tuners, and the rolling tree myself, easily. The bridge can also be changed/altered without problem.

Well 24 frets and more ergonomic neck joint come to mind. Also IIRC it has a better processor but don't quote me on that. Tragic that it doesn't have 3 pickups tho. HSH would've been better to me

Difference in trem feel is most likely on the number of springs. Assuming same string gauge/scale length, 3 springs installed straight, and loosened up enough to float/balance will have a stiffer feel than 2 springs cranked down further also balancing/floating the bridge. Only catch with 2 springs is you may need to angle them so they can stretch far enough to actually float the bridge level…but they will feel a LOT softer and with more flutter than 3 springs (if you use heavier strings you may need to look at 3 vs 4 springs instead of 2 vs 3)

FYI the pickup selector doesn't stop selecting pickups when you enable the pickup emulation stuff, that's hardwired. So strat emulation on position 1 (humbucker) is going to sound totally different to strat emulation on position 4 or 5.

What is the neck profile on your white P800? I just received a P801 (I think), that is the model with the roasted maple fingerboard. The neck profile is considerably different from the P800 I got (which I sent back because the neck was crooked). The S800 and P800 seem to be a C neck profile. The P801 (Mint Green and White, with roasted maple neck, on Amazon) I received has an asymmetrical U neck profile-much thicker (3mm at the crest, but asymmetrical) and square shouldered at the top side, rounded at the bottom side ("baseball bat").

Could you please make a video only for the acoustic sounds of this guitar, as these are the sounds that interest me and many of us in here. Or at least comment below how it compares with the acoustic sounds of a variax or other similar guitars. I would be grateful in both cases. Thank you in advance. Greetings from Greece!

I don't know if the future is effects and all in the guitar. Seems impractical. Can't beat my Helix with my Variaxes, and I have footswitch control of all my effects, amps, guitar emulations, tunings. Too bad that guitarists are such Luddites that the Variax line has been discontinued due to lack of interest. I have four now and can't imagine a world where I don't have at least several. The one-trick pony passive circuit electric guitar is obsolete as far as I'm concerned. Nothing out there to get excited about any more, except for these rare exceptions to the old school rehash models and overpriced signature guitars.

Nothing is dumber than building such electronics into a guitar that is guaranteed to become redundant in a very short time. Put that crap on the floor and leave my guitar alone to age and improve over time just like guitars decade old do. They increase in value instead of being full of crap that turns them into a 'Wall Hanger'

I would stay away from guitars with built in effects or guitar tone simulations. Because a proper guitar can always be upgraded with parts and doesn't get outdated but digital effects and will lose their value and appeal in a few years time. Like the variax or Roland VG guitars, these are not upgradable and will be useless in less than 5 years.
@60CycleHumcast

In the case of these guitars the built in effects don’t need to be on to function. So yeah if that part goes bad it sucks but the guitar it’s self isn’t bricked.

Unpopular opinion, but I LOATHE HSS Strats, and really, hate Strat copies, even immaculate ones like Suhr. They just "look" like a butchered design, those neutered headstocks. Besides, design your own guitar. The violin has, more or less, a locked shape/design for functional/sound purposes-- NOT SO with an electric guitar. All that said, room for one-- Eddie's glorious punk monstrosity. Served a purpose and artistically consistent. If I want a bucker I go SG etc. Leave the Strat to the glory of The Strat. Leo.
