The beginning of this video made me laugh. Thanks for not taking yourself too seriously, but doing a seriously good job reviewing gear. Purchasing the Radar now, largely based on your vids.

@@RidzuanYahya You're not kidding. I've had it for a few weeks now and cannot believe how flexible and capable this thing is. I loaded a few Celestion IR's on it and they sound incredible, even for someone who was once adamantly opposed to anything other than micing a cab.

The Moore Radar is so superior to things like the NUX MG300. I learnt this lesson the hard way!

You guys okay using this after your modulation pedals? Like this: Guitar to od/dist/preamp, to reverb/delay, to Radar

just order the nux, because its cheaper than mooer radar in my country. So far no problem with nux. just volume drop when switch poweramp to EL84 and 6V6. maybe nux would be perfect if it has a LED. i am just waiting JOYO release cab box in january 2019
@CatPickStudios

That's weird that it's cheaper where you live, but good for you! I'll be at NAMM 2019 so I might check the Joyo booth out. They've released some great stuff like the BantAmps lately, so maybe that cab thing might be good too.

Just received one of these, overall pretty believable for recording. Still testing it but for the money and the surprising amount of features you can't beat it for the money. Is there anything like it for the price? PS How do you modify a preset to a user preset place with out messing up the orig. preset, I can not see how you do this?
@CatPickStudios
5 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's pretty good unit, especially if you pair it with some nice IRs. And now that you said it, I don't think there's free preset slots, looks like you need to write the new ones on top of the presets. Weird.

Which would you go with between the Mooer Radar and the NUX Mini (not Solid) Studio for a pure pedal setup? Is the lack of power amp sim a big deal?
@CatPickStudios

Mooer Radar has more options but I really enjoyed the simplicity of the NUX Mini Studio. If you have things like EQ on your board, you might not need everything Radar has.

Nux Solid Studio can also host 3rd party IR's. But when it comes to the sound, it's definitely subjective. :)

Another good one,Vladimir. Thanks for that. I was already pretty much set on getting the NUX Solid Studio for my DI setup but now there's no question. I get exactly what you're getting at with the "feels Chinese" comment. The "so close, yet so far away" feeling is often imminent with the not quite top teer Chinese manufacturers. The potential is there but it feels unfinished and there seems to be a lack of attention to detail. It has nothing to do with them being Chinese, of course, since this is a thing that comes from being a player on an emerging market. This was the case with Japanese products too, a few decades ago when they were up-and-coming but still low rent. The Anderton's guys call this "chiffordable", I think.

Yeah I feel especially with Mooer they move so fast to the next product the old ones get abandoned pretty quickly. Radar has gotten few updates but those seem to be just crucial bug fixes and that's it.
@cibbantwist

@@CatPickStudios Well, I guess with the market being what it is, you have to move fast and keep coming up with new cool stuff to stay afloat. It seems Mooer gets ahead of themselves and forget about upkeep of existing products and customers to a greater extent than many of the others. It's too bad. They really have loads of potential but way too often go in half cocked and do a half assed job.

@@RidzuanYahya I genuinely don't know what part of my you're referring to. I'm fully aware NU-X is a Chinese manufacturer and I can't find anything in the text that suggests otherwise, not for lack of trying. I'm sure there is some ambiguous wording I'm blind to since I know what I mean by it. Feel free to enlighten me on what you're seeing that I don't. :)

Hi there! What if I don't have an amp? Can I connect my guitar straight to this to obtain the amp and cabinet sound and then into a digitech rp355 to add efects and straightt into the PC? Thanks
@CatPickStudios
5 жыл бұрын
Hey! Technically it would work, but without any kind of preamp you would just be listening to power amp + cab sim, which doesn't sound that exciting. Add some sort of preamp or drive pedal with good eq controls in front of it and you should have a fun little rig to work with.

Hay , thanks for the review. If you use this in a pedal board , would you put modulation and delay pedals after or before this ?
@CatPickStudios
5 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends how you want to think of it. Putting them in front of the Radar it would be like using them in the effects loop of the amp while putting effects after Radar is like applying effects on a recorded guitar in DAW. Both will work well, you'll just have to apply different settings on the pedals depending where you place them. :)

Would to listen to this guy or Pete Thorn who thinks it's a great pedal. Why do you do a review if you don't know how to use the product. Do your research first before reviewing please. Also your enthusiasm leaves something to be desired. If your going to review a product show some damn interest. You already hated this pedal so why the review. Just to please the naysayers of your last video on this product?
