@@ninjafrog8419 I feel that bro. The Lyperteks are very solid. The Pi7s aren't perfect by any stretch but I have yet to hear any true wireless ear buds with the bass extension and that very deep sub woofer sound ALONG with great mids highs. The sound separation is really impressive. Plus I like that they have a companion app so firmware updates are also possible. Biggest weaknesses though are: 1) battery life and sometimes the BT connection when a certain distance away or when you turn corners gets a lil choppy. Hoping that with firmware updates the BT connection can be improved. My original galaxy buds had a similar issue but with updates it greatly improved.

I can't understand why anyone would make earbuds with no volume controls. If they add them through an update I would consider trying these. It is always good to know how loud earbuds get. Maybe you could mention that in your videos. Some earbuds I have I listen to at full volume and there are other ones I listen to at 80% most of the time. Sometimes the quality of an older song isn't as good and I need those couple extra notches to make those songs louder. That is why I need volume controls. Not all songs can be played at the same volume. Thanx for another fantastic video.

Hi guys, what's an IEM (in-ear monitor) and how does it differ from TWS? And why do they get as expensive as $800 buckaroos? Thanks 🙂
@TalesOfGod
3 жыл бұрын
An IEM are wired earbuds that are usually used by musicians to hear themselves and they focus on sound quality (monitor may mean flat sound but most IEMs have exciting sound with different sound signatures). An IEM will usually sound better than any of the TWS earbuds/headphones as they are designed for only sound quality and doesn't have the limitations of Bluetooth headphones/earbuds. They can range from as low as $15 to $2000+ USD (even more for some models). Around $300-400 is the area where diminishing returns hits hard, most people will be happy with a $100 IEM. The higher budget models are for those that are trying to get the best sound quality that you can get in a portable package. The most famous high budget IEM is around $1200 (although you can find it used for much less) which is the Campfire Andromeda 2020 version. All IEMs are best played on lossless files (like FLAC/WAV), not by streaming music. The only wireless earbuds that are decent compared to IEMs are the Sony WF-1000XM3 (with Spinfit CP 360 tips) in my opinion. The expected XM4 TWS earbuds are expected to add LDAC support, making it even better and they will be announced in a month. Other than that, not many compete well against IEMs for a cheaper price. For a budget option under $100 USD, I would strongly recommend the Final Audio E1000 (flat/neutral sound, $30), E2000 (V shaped exciting sound, $40) or E3000 (Warm sound with emphasis on the lower end, $50-$55). The Moondrop Crescent is also a great starting point. It is neutral with a bass boost for only $30 USD. Moondrop Aria ($80, Harman) and Starfield ($100, Harman) are also recommended. All of these may sound better than several $300 TWS earbuds and obviously, there are better ones as you spend more. If you are interested in IEMs or TWS earbuds, I strongly recommend that you check Crinacle's list of IEMs. crinacle.com/rankings/iems/

Captain BroadSword, I presume you just bought the new Lypertek PurePlay Z3's? If so, how did the ambient mode perform on yours? I purchased them and loved the sound but I was really disappointed in the quality of the ambient mode. I tried them around a fan at home, a space heater, outside traffic and in the gym. In my testing, I literally could not discern the difference between regular mode and ambient mode. For comparison, I have the Sony WF-SP800N's, the Jabra Elite 75ts, TOZO NC9 Plus, TOZO NC2s, Earfun Free Pros, JBL Live 300s & the Soundcore QC30s. The ambient noise on the Lypertek's sucked in comparison! I don't need noise cancelling but I go for long walks outside and I'm a gym workout junkie. I really desire a good ambient mode.
