Mike Oldfield's huge hit from 1983 sung by Maggie Reilly and covered by the Shadows for their successful 1986 album "Moonlight Shadows".
Geeks, Nerds and Anoraks Corner.
These days I don't half struggle with those fast runs at the end! I used the bridge pickup on my American Series Strat. For some reason the prescribed echo on the Hall and Collins Echo unit wasn't providing the noticeable repeat of the word "shadow" and I tinkered around with all the settings to no avail although I could clearly hear them through headphones. So I dug out my Zoom RFX2000 programmed with Charlie Hall's EFTP and tinkered with the prescribed echo, patch 20, and got what I think is a better repeat and a somewhat smoother sound, so this is what I used. Now I wish I had gone the whole hog and also tried the Yamaha Magicstomp which I also still have as a backup.
Naturally I have since found another echo on the Hall and Collins that fits the bill brilliantly, 'twas ever thus!
Nothing else, from the Zoom RFX2000 straight into the Tascam recorder.
The backing track is from the excellent Casting A Shadow CD and is, I think, the only one available for the Shadows' arrangement.
