To me, before the movies, etc. THIS is my favorite Bruce as David Addison!

Probably my favorite show from the 80's. I fell in love with Cybill and, of course, it paved the way for a stellar career for Bruce. Great stuff.

I worked in Century City close to Fox Studios during the days of Moonlighting, and many in our office were great fans of the show! It was the hippest thing on TV and I loved Maddie & David so much!! I still get a pang in my heart to this day just listening to the theme. My ‘80’s ruled!! ❤️

I loved this show as a kid and now that I'm older I get all the 'stuff' - but even as a kid I recognized that it was a dynamic chemistry between the two and the sophistication of the writing. I have been wanting to re-watch for years and am so thankful they finally released it streaming. ❤

Same! I was only 5 when it debuted but somehow I remember wanting Maddie and David to be a couple at some point. Gotta be something if a grade schooler can pick up on the chemistry. 😂

I remember watching the end of that Christmas show and being wowed and floored. I'm glad the makers felt the same. Television was never the same after that.

He was right about the unrealist "driving"--but that's all-but-universal in even the best of shows and movies. Heads outta roll over this--but the heads that outta roll are the heads of the HEADS of the studios.

It really hasn't aged that well AT ALL.. The writing was not some kind of stellar thing either, even back then but it was refreshing. The fact that it was an expensive show never really translated to what you saw on screen. It was very straight forward shots with little frills. I still like seeing Maddy and David bicker.

It most certainly has aged well and the writing was and is better than most tv shows then and now. Maybe to you it hasn't "aged well" then why do you think it's streaming on Hulu now?

I was a kid when it was on, way too young to get it. Watching it as an adult now I realize just how good it really was. A lot of people under 35 won’t appreciate it but it’s not like any of the visually stunning, high tech _dross_ that’s popular now. Listening to the directors explain the filming process and how the DP shot it, it’s anything but “straightforward.”

I don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s not dated at all. It’s witty, intelligent, sexy, but most of all, artistic. It’s called Moonlighting for a reason. It’s BEAUTIFULLY filmed. WOW 🤩
@MondoMiami

Part of the reason Moonlighting is mostly forgotten is that the whole “meta” joke wears thin quickly when you do it ALL. THE. TIME. It became predictable and, ultimately, made even well-written jokes seem dated. And then there was Cybill Shepherd’s pie face trying to play “sexy.” Now that’s a laugh.
@Gil60Four

Partly why it's forgotten is because the music rights in the show made it's streaming on Netflix, Amazon etc non existent. It was ahead of it's time & unique & Cybill Shepheard? What a voice kzitem.info/news/bejne/l5p63Kl3cYidhHo 😃

If that's the case why are you even here? Seems like you're wasting time watching and commenting on a show you look down your nose at so hard. And if it was so forgotten why has there been new books released about the show and the huge excitement about it streaming on Hulu?

@MondoMiami OMG the arrogance 😂 I bet you're not even joking. I'm the UK everyone in my age group was a massive fan, it still gets talked about here, especially as it's started to be streamed in the US. Anyhoo you're trolling for attention, quite happy to give you that attention you.desperately need.Bless.
