Last year, for a school project, I was required to choose any album that I like to present to people and say why everybody needs to listen to it. I chose Moonrise over every other album I've ever heard. I got 100% on it and hooked half the class on your music (even people that hate MLP) and symphonic metal. Don't stop what you're doing.

+RattPitt I don't care for MLP at all, but this is absolutely beautifully done. I love the symphonic metal scene, and go out of my way to find any and all good bands/artists in the genre when I can. I can honestly say that this is significantly more well done than a large majority of the random stuff out there, and on par with some of my favorite bands in the genre. Even the lyrics, which I find silly at times, are particularly well written. I don't care a huge amount for the story, but I can certainly appreciate someone that knows how to write.

This was and still is the best part of the brony community. The enormous variety of what MLP can be. From heart-wrenching tragedies, the fantastic epics, to cute slice-of-life, to shameless clop and so forth. It's why even though other shows/games have come and gone with me MLP is the one thing I haven't been able to get away from for the full 7 years.

The L-Train I listen to this genre of music all the time and I would like to say I think this song is well made but I still agree with AMrTheAn somewhat. There is something about it that doesn't give it the 'epic' feel of what I normally listen to in comparison to, for example, Sacred Worlds by Blind Guardian. What I think it is is that it does not go to the extremes of loud and soft enough, but that is just my opinion. Also note sorry if I come off a little rude but I just wanted to supply some constructive criticism.

Matt Smith Well, when it comes down to it, after you've listened to a genre of music for a really long time, it's difficult not to find similarities among a larger percentage of the songs. It's kind of what defines a genre of music... similarities in musical composition and lyrical thematic.

In my opinion, this story could not have been told any better. It really explains the feelings of Luna leading up to her banishment, the feelings of Celestia having to banish her, and also (even though it was mentioned very little) the feelings of those who had to fight their war. All in all, the greatest piece of brony music I've heard so far. It deserves way more recognition. Keep on rockin

True. The more I listen to it, the more I'm amazed by the lyrics. The other day I even teared up a bit at the "If I could have saved you, if I could have known - though much time will pass, I'll love you evermore". The whole conflict between the two sisters, with Luna frustrated and depressed (and maybe a tiny bit paranoid?) at her hard work being ignored, and Celestia feeling sad and even guilty that her sister did such a thing while at the same time never softening her resolve to do what must be done for the good of the kingdom... it just hits all the right strings.

This is a masterpiece. The effort, investment, and soul that all of you have put into this work is exceedingly evident. This piece blurs the line between amateur and professional. The only real thing that Moonrise suffers from is that it is admittedly short for a full-fledged symphonic metal opera. One could only have hoped to have born further witness to the glorious and then tragic relationship between the "beloved alicorns, the angels whom we adorn with majesty". Even so, I cannot imagine how much time has already been spent to weave this masterful retelling of a story which itself has only ever been told to us in brevity. Whatever rough edges are left begin to dwindle away with each passing scene. Musicians, writers, vocalists, artists all: as a lover of tales, as a lover of music, I offer my praise and my sincerest gratitude.

While there may be really creative works done using it, there's also allot more normal ones. Fel Greywolf As awesome as that would be, there's a number of issues: - It's only 25 minutes long, which is probably not long enough - It would require an enormous number of musicians to do it justice (I wouldn't be happy with a karaoke-style pre-recorded orchestra) -> expensive and difficult! - The cast and crew are spread across 4 different continents - I don't think Hasbro would go for it So ... :(

All Hasbro would have to do would be release the rights. I bet a kick starter would generate more than enough, not to mention ticket sales. Make it a pony festival!

what do you call a long line of learning drivers? an L-Train. lol never mind that. this is the best song I've ever heard and it will probably stay that way. until Fall of an Empire if it blows me away. especially considering this is fan made like omg so so good. this song proves that fan made songs are not different in quality then songs with a record label. everything about this song is interstellar and I would recommend to everyone only if the song didn't say pony in it XD lol who cares? I LOVE IT! I love everything you do L-Train. keep it up. I also subscribed to the whole Moonrise crew.

My whole family's musical. My parents owned (and we have the old synth in our house) a recording studio. I was born with perfect pitch, a great ear for music, some great taste (if I do say so myself), and I have listened to a LOT of metal. I can safely say that, for all the music I've heard, this stands among masterpieces. The riffwork is fantastic and the instrumentation is gloriously incredible, truly fitting for the story it tells. I love the lyrical inflections and accents, and all subtleties to this piece. It's truly a job well done, and all those involved should feel extremely proud of themselves. And, it makes ponies sound badass. What's not to like? Haha. My only very very insignificant note is a case of personal preference, and I feel some of the singing could have been a little... what's the word...? More weighted. Same tone, same inflections, just with a little more weight. And, I found myself thinking that some of the sound mixing could have been a little better here or there so the lyrics are just a little more audible over the instruments. However, both of those are extremely minor, and I don't think this needs to be changed at all. It's brilliant, plain and simple. Thank you.

Wait!? What the hell is this awesomeness I'm listening to!? This is AMAZING!! I only ever watched the first season of MLP. What do I need to know?? Like, are the lyrics references to particular episodes? Are these songs reinterpretations of music from the show? (I don't recognize any!) I NEED ANSWERS!! Yes, I could Google that but I'm quite high RN and likely won't remember to do that. So, if someone could please follow up with me even if it's months on, that would be great! Thanks! Have a great day!

In simple terms this is a musical adaptation of the original Nightmare Moon story as explained in the Season 1 pilot episodes. We added enough flare and framing devices to give it a little more context and weight. :)

I like *Nightfall* 🌠---------------------🌠 🌙 *Luna* Twinkling stars of every size Adorn the canvas of the skies Captivate and mesmerize And usher in the moonrise Wait! Hold on, don’t close your eyes, Would you waste this evening so divine? Would you lie and not arise, and slumber through creation at its prime? ⭐️ *Storyteller* Ruling from a silent throne, her majesty ignored Leaving her tender breaking heart to fracture all alone And so a wicked seed began to grow and grow Twisting up her loving mind with sharp and hateful thorns 🌙 *Luna* (Nightmare Moon) Don’t they see how hard I try? (They don’t deserve you) Is my night not worthy for them? (Blasphemous foals!) Do they think they can deny My royal right? 🌑 *Luna & Nightmare Moon* Let’s see them try to hide! {laughter} No more will the moon be eclipsed By selfish, blinding, scorching sunlight! Gaze upon the dusk of a new age, The lunar throne shall take its rightful place!

+Chilliam William Its about looking past the shows target audience and just realizing that the show is surprisingly well written and well animated, the characters have more depth than normal, they learn from there mistakes and the show as a whole is not static like most other cartoons or hell just about anything on tv,, plus for some of us it has alot of throwback voice work done by people we remember from our childhood and so on, such as q from startrack, vegeta from dbz is also a voice actor but to each there own :D atleast we can both agree the music is amazing !

+next level nub from what I've seen so far (a fair amount of Season 1), the characters do appear to represent different character archetypes, albeit with a somewhat fresh take on them. Twilight Sparkle - so bookish that she has to be sent away to Ponyville to learn about friendship Apple Jack - rustic, self-aware type. Pinkie Pie - definitely the "dumb best friend" Rainbow Dash - driven, proud, sporty type Rarity - like Paris Hilton, but throws less tantrums Fluttershy - the shy one, nature lover That said, there's nothing wrong with these archetypes. They all learn over the course of the show. I'm just saying that, where I'm at, I haven't found the characters particularly deep at the moment. The themes covered in each episode aren't exactly anything I've seen before, but it's got a definite, undeniable charm and polish to it.

I'll be honest with ya L-Train, this song, no matter how many times I listen to it, still sends shivers down my spine, still makes me feel good. When I have a bad day, when I'm stressed or mad, whatever bad emotion I may have, I always listen to this song. Because it makes me relaxed, it makes me feel good, and it's just utterly lovely. You are a true artist to do something like that to someone. I appreciate the calm your song can bring to me when I'm in a sour mood. And to all those that helped you bring this to life, they are incredible as well. Thank you L-Train for what you put time and effort into creating.

I really like the end of _Prelude_ starting around 2:30. It does a very good job getting the listener interested in whatever happens next, and it has that nice triumphant/battle theme to it. The singing in _Harmony_ is just excellent, and fits well with the music. The whole track is very good. The drop at 7:45 in _Nightfall_ is quite nice, and the singing (would that be a duet? It alternates, but not closely...) is good. I'm not sure about the evil laughter later in that track, but it makes sense in setting, even if not quite melodically. I like _Lunar March_, but I don't really have any specific comments. _Battle of Sun and Moon_ had almost _too_ much of a fighting theme to it. It's very fast-paced, perhaps slightly too much. _Daybreak_ has a very nice intro. The slow, calm melody is soothing. Admittedly, it may be because of the contrast with the previous track. I was expecting _Harmony Restored_ to be more calm, given the name. I still like it, though. It has a very triumphant theme (if I can recall correctly, they are similar to those in the intro, tying it all together) and the (cough) harmonies in the singing are very pleasant.
