After struggling with getting the pins in for many years I discovered if you lift the plow off the ground with your winch it allows the plow to "swing" making it much easier move and align holes for the pins.

I am late to the comments, but Kimpex offers a coilspring stiffener, which would help with the squatting. I am sure others also offer them, but I know Kimpex certainly does.

Thanks for this video, knowing to remove belly pan was the one detail I was missing for ease of installation. Thanks John

I just saw the video - it looks easy enough to install. Question: With the attachment points being at the far end, how much left to right shift is in the unit?

Good question, and yes you're right, there is some side to side movement of the plow. The saving grace is the winch cable. It basically keeps the plow centered as much as possible; however there is still a bit of side to side movement. I would say there is probably 1/4" of movement allowable when the winch cable is connected. As far as movement while plowing - it's hard for me to tell but after a few seasons of plowing snow there doesn't seem to be any bending of the tabs on the mount. I'm still confident in the setup and think it was a worthwhile purchase.

You can increase preload on the front spring's instead of/besides running higher air pressure in the front tires.

Did the pully system attached to the push tub come with the moose plow setup? I just bought a plow and the tube system, but it doesn't have the pully system to connect to a winch.

Watching 2023 Any issues? I need to purchase a plow soon as winter is close.

Hey Mike! Absolutely no issues with this setup. The only thing I'd love to do is get casters instead of those rounded metal feet for it, and the only reason for that is I have a concrete driveway. Structurally - perfect. Keep the spring loaded mechanism for the pin used to adjust the plow angle greased and it'll move like butter.

Where did you get the pulley system on the plow? Thanks Mike

Hey Mike! I ordered mine direct through Moose Utilities Division. As time has passed I found a few retailers selling them. Keep in mind there may be other vendors selling cheaper or have free shipping or what have you. Here's a link to Moose Utilities to at least get your started: www.mooseutilities.com/products/166558/productGroup/78478

shouldnt there be stabalizers near the front of the ATV to take the side torque when turning with the plow down?

You are not wrong in thinking this. I too agree there should be some lateral support on the front of the machine. What I've found is the RM5 plow and mount (also from Moose Utility Division) is more of a front mounted system than what I have. When I purchased my plow it was from the dealership and I didn't really know much about what I was looking for. Turns out they ordered a "push tube" system that mounts mid-machine for more of a direct push versus turning radials while plowing. I can say, however, in my curved driveway it seems to work ok. I have not noticed any bending of the ears on the mount or the tabs on the plow itself. I suppose I could backyard engineer some kind of support mechanism that mounts to the front of the frame for lateral support, but I don't know that it would come to that point. Truth be had and knock on wood I have not had an inch of snow this year yet at my house. Sorry for the lengthy reply!
