Hey brother, another great video. Excellent job on the air filter housing. Love these types of videos, especially when getting to see someone's talent shine. 200° is getting on up there, I always tried to keep her around 175-180° max. I ran a aluminum flex lite fan with a electric fan pushing through the trans cooler and radiator. But environment also plays a huge role in controlling temp. Personally I never made more HP at higher temps. Just the opposite, lost 15-20 hp at high temps. Lol, love listening to your converter flash while just driving around. I ran a TCI 3800, yours must be a trip to drive.

Another great video! Yes, my giant coffee (30 oz.) was excellent, it's like 10:00AM now. I like the modified air cleaner but did I see a few gaps on the bottom where the two pieces are welded together? The diameter does matter when the airflow has a straight shot to the carb like that. You would see a difference on the dyno with the different air cleaner set ups. That K&N will out flow a stock filter any day even when they are a little dirty. Every car is different when you remove a sway bar, you will notice it the most in an emergency maneuver or getting on the binders hard. With the skinny wheels & tires on the front, it's not set up to handle the corners as most cars would be, so it's a coin flip. I know just by disconnecting the sway bar links at the track would help a lot with weight transfer & possibly get daylight under the tire. The real test will be at the end of the track without the sway bar. I think the temperature is good between 180-200 degrees. Look back to your dyno sheet, what were the temps when you did your pulls? I could see the temp start to drop a little before you got out of the driveway. When you were pulling back in the driveway the thermostat was just about fully closed. What color is your car? It's looks like a Burgundy in the sun but I can see a little bit of brown hue in the paint on the garage shots. Spoke to ya later, I'll be 10-10 on the side, Ka moan.😎

Dude my garage is cramped like that. I really need to build another shop. I had one at my old house where I built my Barracuda but at my new house I’m stuck with a tight garage like yours ….it’s frustrating to say the least. I’m running Summit style K&N filter but it seems the oil charged filters collect dust and clog up faster than paper filters. Not sure if there’s any real benefit to K&N style filters but the car seems to run the same with paper filters. I had an electric pusher fan like yours to help when sitting at long lights in hot Ga weather because I had a mechanical fan as well but long sits made the temp climb in 100 deg days. I eventually went with an aluminum shrouded two fan electric puller fan set up and eliminated the mechanical fan…..works very well. I normally kill the fan manually with a switch when cruising it just stays cool then I switch it back on at red lights. I bypassed the fan controller which was two stage but the module burned out after a few weeks of use so I just ran it through a relay and switch and the fans just come in full field when I want them to. I really love your Dart and you definitely have a Mopar guy personality.

Are you using an Flex-a-lite fan controller with a custom made cover? I think a puller will definitely help it stay cool. With a pusher fan, the body is blocking a portion of air flow. Some fans are reversible by rolling the wires, and flipping the blades.?. Fyi, Im not a Mopar guy. I just think your car is a perfect mix of street strip.
@SimpsonsSpeedShop
4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks bro! Not sure of the brand of controler it was on the car when I bought it, I did make the custom aluminum cover for it. I don’t think it’s reversible, it’s an older unit. Ya they say the pusher isn’t good on hiway cause it blocks some of the rad but car cooled down on hiway so ya keep playing with it and get a pulled when they back in stock. Thanks for watching

Nice video. What shock are you running up front. I think if you are running a stock type of shock and switch to an adjustable shock permitting 90-10 or 80-20 valving when you race, it will allow your front end to rise a lot quicker promoting weight transfer. I was running a 426 street wedge in NHRA stock eliminator that dynoed at 497 hp and I would regularly pull the front tires on launch in a B body so you definitively have the power to pull the wheels. You just need to get your chassis to work a little better. You may also want to consider CalTrac mono springs and traction bars along with adjustable shocks in the back. With the power that you have and the converter that you are running your 60 foot should be in the 1.40s. CalTracs are 100 times better then any SS spring ever made plus you will drop some weight as well.
