My mom was Elsie before the cow and she was irritated when it happened and started going by her middle name. Cows are beautiful creatures though. 🐄 Edited to say I hemorrhaged right after delivering one of my babies. My first hint was a high pitched noise no one else heard in the room. And then someone noticed the impressive visible blood. It took me weeks to recover. Tess rocks😊

Thank you for hsring your story with all of us. It is beautiful, and inspiring, especially after all you have been through, to have this happiest of endings. You were truly blessed with many miracles along the way. I don't discount any of the hardships, and heartaches you had to endured along the way, but what a beautiful rainbow you received after the storms you have weathered. There is no doubt in my mind the you will find the perfect surrogate to help bring your other babies to life. Tess is an ABSOLUTE angel for all that she has done, but you can see that is in here DNA, and I am sure that Elsie benefitted from all of the positive energy, and love she carries within her, and shared with her. I have cried many tears with you guys as you faced the challenges with Jess's diagnosis, treatments, and despair you went through, but today the tears are of pure joy and happiness. Wishing you all many many blessings. You all have so much to be thankful for. Happiest of Thanksgiving wishes from your Canadian neighbour.

Y’all are all so neat and amazing! I feel like I know you! My husband and I adopted our first and then did IV and got twins. I had to have a hysterectomy less than 2 years later, so we gave our frozen embryos to an awesome organization called Nightlight Christian Adoptions or Snowflakes program. They found us the perfect couple who had 1 of our embryos themselves. Can’t wait to all meet up one day but haven’t met him/them yet in person. ❤

Definitely share more about the process of being a surrogate. I think people are very uneducated about the process and think it’s like giving up a baby. And it’s really not. I think the more people know about, the more they will volunteer to be one or want to use a surrogate. It’s such a neat thing and I would love to know more about the legal costs and logistics. I love this story so much and I’m sorry Tess won’t be able to carry your next baby, but I have no doubt you will find someone just as sweet. It would be amazing if she was also someone you know and would remain in your life, but if you connect only during the process, it will still be so special. In the meantime, you’ll have Elsie to dote on and love.

In our family, with boys at least, they're measured at 2 years of age and you double that to see their full grown height - accurate within an inch. With girls, since the metabolism is different, you measure at 18 months (1 1/2 years) - also accurate within an inch. I question whether at 18 months and 2 years if they stayed still enough to get an accurate measurement.

My parents and aunt and uncle donated blood at that time. It was a very scary time and I was only 14. My sister had 2 more kids afterward. My younger nephew is just 17 months younger than his brother. So happy everything worked for you!
