Used to be a custom framer at Michael's so here are my tips for framing something like this nicely without paying for custom framing. Get acid free foam board and stretch the canvas around a board cut about an 8th of an inch smaller than your dimensions and use straight pins to pin it into the foamy sides. Tape excess canvas to the back. This will prevent the art from possibly sagging in the frame over time. Staple into the back of the frame at an angle with a staple gun. This is the method custom framers use to frame embroidery, so you can look up tutorials if you need them. The poster frames at Michael's are truly awful crap, honestly you would probably better off spray finishing the gem art and throwing that plastic away as it scratches easily. Also, a framing note not specific to gem art, non-professionals always frame stuff by laying the frame face down and placing the art into the frame... Its much better to lay the art on a clean flat surface, place the glass or plastic on top, then the frame, then flip it over. This way you can see if there is dirt or hair under the glass or plastic BEFORE you've closed the whole thing up.

Mia Couch yeah I did but here in the uk when u buy a frame you just have to make sure ur canvas is cut to the right size and then you put it in and it’s done.. you don’t have to do all this fancy stuff with nail guns and canvas which would cost more than just buying a precut frame
@mvo9856
4 жыл бұрын
@@phoebechandler8932 what you are describing could result in the canvas sagging over time or slipping in the frame. I get that you just don't care all that much about doing it the right way and that's fine. But I am going to go on my little rant anyways because this is just a huge pet peeve of mine--- people think framing is about making art look pretty or whatever and it has become that for most people. But frames weren't invented to make art pretty... Art is already pretty! Frames were invented to protect art and other valuables. Everything a framer does is to prevent bad things from happening to the art. The glass protects from dust, the frame protects the edges from damage the matting protects the paper from moisture gluing it to the glass and etc. Okay so maybe you don't care if the art starts to slouch or sag in the frame. But some people do! So like. Chill. Lol (And yes I see the irony in my saying chill after being so un-chill.)

Oooh..... a fresh new artist for DAC! I am happy! You can never get bored with DAC always coming out with something fresh and Vibrance and captivating like your four pieces of artwork that you licensed to them. I like the style of video because it actually was not just an unboxing but it showed you relating to your artwork all over again through the different phases, all the way into framing the finished piece. Now I just have to figure out which piece I want to buy first! I know it wouldnt be cheap enough for Doller-rama, but look into the containers from Harbor Freight, if guou can find one nearby. To keep myself from mixing up the labels, I can use the Harbor Freight containers because the lid just Hibbetts on it and doesn't actually come completely off. If you have a xyron sticker maker and you have the non permanent cartridge, you may find that sticking them on the side also helps with keeping the symbols together with the right color drills.

LISTEN! so in doing a diamond painting too! And it's has been kinda difficult, and it was talking FOREVER! i was doing big sections, and I loved it, but just few days ago I found this new method. You basically covere it all in pergament paper and then I use a little knife thingy and cut out only the color that I'm working on. You can do huge sections using this method and it's SO MUCH FUN! and I used to use wax, but it was annoying and I just could not take it anymore, so I started using blue tach and it's so much better! I basically don't have to change it or refill it at all! SO NOW IM HAVING SO MUCH FUN!

I could pay for it to be express... for $45 USD, I know I'm a long way away if there was an option where they were like its $10 but will take a month I'd take it. So in summary.. @@morgansweeney6392 DAC is expensive but I find that it is worth it considering the quality and the fact that they license art. Most cheap diamond paintings from amazon and ali express tend to steal art and not compensate the original artists which is a deal breaker for me. Another tip. This might be the solution for your AB drills. I use water on the pen. I use very little wax and probably don’t need any. Dip the end of your drill pen into water and flick off the excess. The capillary action will stick your drill to the pen and not damage the drill. I can do this every few minutes instead of refilling the drill pen with wax or blu-tac. Then the sticky canvas attracts and sticks the drill with little pressure.

I love doing diamond paintings! A tip for larger areas is to do it in a 'checkerboard' pattern, on a line do every second one and the next line every second again... than go back and fill in the squares if that makes sense? I really worked for me especially when I was doing a full white background :)

So with that method you can't apply multiple gems at once with the multi tool? And you have to cycle through each colour twice? Seems slower.

Baylee Jae it worked better for me as I struggle with the multi tool for some reason 😓 The time I spent trying to push them into straight line once they stuck down I found I could do the checkerboard pattern quicker as I got faster... and I could get them straighter 😂

I tried both round beads and square beads, but prefer round beads. Also, it takes me longer to do a diamond painting when the painting includes a lot of symbols. The paintings with just numbers and letters are way easier.

It helps some people to use the checker board pattern. And to seal the drills down with some kind of glue because over time they can come up especially if you bend it a lot.

My diamond painting canvases aren't sealed as well and it's displayed openly without glass or plastic covering I am amazed it held up pretty well! no missing drills at all. So i guess it doesn't matter if you seal it or not.

I've do diamond art quite a lot and I've figured it's easier to do a few lines across length ways as you can determine how many lines to do and you don't have to cut any of the film. Although doing corner and working inward is a decent way to do it if you wish to finish it in a day

I love the kitting up process! I could never work out of those little zip grip bags. 🙄 I use bottles simular to yours. I save all my leftovers I have a plan to make mosaic projects with them.

Fun fact: I started this some what in the summer and ever since I've been OBSESSED with them! I'm currently doing a Eiffel Tower on and it's a circular jem. I personally like the tweezers better than the pencils and I just work faster that way.🤷🏾♀️😊🗼🎆✨

These things seem like they take so much time and patience!! I almost can't believe you did all that work, for a 20 min. video- you make it look so fast and easy!! Hope the paintings do really well in the online store- it seems like you work really hard to make these things happen, and you do a really nice job

I fins doing diamond paintings soo relaxing. My family can always tell when I'm stressed or annoyed or anxious or anything like that because I do A LOT of diamond paintings with both headphones in and they know to just leave me alone for a while. The most I did in one day was a whole 30x30 picture. I was really stressed that day

If you bought it off Ali Express, there are unfortunately some shops which do steal art. Ever Moment Store, to my knowledge, does not steal art at all - but they are unfortunately closed right now as a result of the coronavirus. DAC is way too expensive for me, unfortunately, so I buy exclusively off Ali Express. So cool to see you doing a craft I love!

Your Vlog channel could be called "Humble Haylee" as well. It is so wholesome to see a person be so down to earth about their success... Having your art published like that is something SO many artists dream off and so many people would flex... You put so much work into this!!! Well done!

Diamond art club paintings do not need to be sealed. Their glue is very strong, also sealing will diminish some of the sparkle. I have been doing their paintings for over a year with no issue. 😁 I bought all four of your paintings and I can’t wait till I get them. I love your art
