I recommend he consider ONLY Norma factory ammo such as the 180 Bondstrike if he wants to use it to hunt, or the 150 Whitetail if he wants to just use it to get the brass. Both of these shoot nearly one hole groups in all of my 300WM Tikkas.

Try using plastic gage to see how the action sets in the chassis its what you use to check bearing clearance to me it would be perfect you would be able to see exactly where the action makes contact.

Scott, I had accurate mag make me a longer asic AOL mag for my 338 lapua. So just a suggestion to shoot the heavier bullet. I'm not a fan of the 300 win, that bullet is seated way to far. Don't think when winchester designed the cartridge they was thinking of 220 plus grain bullet in it.

I don't know about a single stack mag but my double stack will not feed right if the bullets are to close I have to set back 4 or 5 tho
