That would sound like "tryin-da." The -ing will change to -in in connected speech, the /t/ turns to a Flap T between the 2 vowel sounds and "to" reduced to "tuh." Hope this helps! 😊

Using these combinations on the IELTS exam would not hurt you however, I would not spend time trying to learn reductions for the exam. The most critical thing on the exam is that you are CLEAR in your speech and ORGANIZED in delivering your message. It would be much more beneficial to practice speaking aloud and highlighting key words with your voice than trying to use reductions. Exam scores are not based on how close you sound to a native speaker. Hope this helps- good luck to you!

Hi Albert! I started in October 2017 as a way for my clients to have video lessons they could reference repeatedly if necessary and also in hopes of building a library I could then guide students through for independent study. I still aim to do this! :)
