Repeatedly saying "no matter what you think of his politics" is either disingenuous or naive when this person Vance is running for vice president. Anyone running for vice president (or any elected office) it's their politics which lead to their policies that are the main thing you should think about!

It's depressing when DN and others are so far gone. It's Glen Greenwald, Aaron Mate, Blumenthal, Tracy and Taibi who now carry the torch for journalistic integrity. Russiagate was ridiculous on its face. Worse was when experienced journalists, confronted by it being exposed as hoax STILL pretend it had any basis in fact. The hysteria around Trump and 'independent media' just reporting the Democrat talking points has been so disappointing. Watching the cult around Biden and the hysteria around Trump (I'm in UK) is ludicrous. I'm stunned so many accept it (and even encourage it🙄)

Vance reminds me of an modern American version of the French historian and politician who crushed the Paris Commune in 1871 and died 6 years after . Vance would fill them up with conservative proletarian content.

This guy is so far off in his assessment it's hilarious. The "new right" is the same as the "old left"! The reasons for that are many and varied, but they are all of them rational, and justified. I am not running for VP, i have nothing to gain, i just thought about some stuff and arrived at a different conclusion. Y'all might wanna try it sometime.

I am in many ways the same. I still think Trumps character is despicable. But the policy is mostly right. Regardless, I don't think politics is always particularly rational. Rather, it's often dogmatic and done at a rather gut level. You have any number of people who had didn't have doctrinaire Paul Ryan libertarian style fiscal views and who therefore felt uncomfortable with the country club republican party. Many of these same people, as he rightly noted, are not philosophically Liberals but rather Conservatives.
