Thank you so much for this insight review from firsthand use. I was eyeing this, and still considering competitors. But now, your pitch here has helped my make up my mind and seal the deal. I will be investing in one of these, for sure. I have a HP Designjet T630 24”, and it is quite fantastic at what it can do. It will become the assistant m once the Z6 finally arrives in my workshop. Happy days. Your work looks awesome. Keep up the good work! Thanks again, pal. All the best! M:)

Hi Sean, enjoying your videos and your positive attitude. I know you talk a fair bit about the cost of inks, but do you have a rough idea of the cost of printing per metre on the Z6? Thanks

God, I'm not sure :-( Good result yesterday for the Bhoys :-)

Thanks Sean, it seems to be very difficult to get a running cost for these printers. What paper core size does it take, 2" or 3"? Thanks

Did you varnish your Canvases when you printed them on the HP printer? If not how did you keep the end from cracking when you wrapped the Canvas?

I don't add varnish and have never had a problem or complaint about the cracking. The stretch bars have a slight round edge on them which I guess, helps prevent this.

I'm trying to find a low cost printer to print on vinyl. Would you recommend this one? Thanks.

I have printed on vinyl with this printer, Susan but you would need to laminate it for protection. I did an opening hours sticker for my storefront, and when I cleaned the window with cleaning spray, the ink started to flake off. What is your budget?

@@designgaff2025 Laminating is not really an option for us. It's a new business we are starting and we want to print in-house rather than outsourcing. Having our own printer also gives us the ability to test designs. I'd like to stay under $5k but I'm open to considering something higher if absolutely necessary. Thank you for your help!

If that were the case, I wouldn't recommend the Z6, as without the lamination, they will fade in direct sunlight rather quickly. Have a look at the Roland BN 20; its a print and cut machine that uses eco-solvent inks, which would hold up better to sunlight, wear and tear, etc

@@designgaff2025 Thank you. I'm looking at the HP 315 but it's about 12k usd. Do you know that machine?

I wouldn't be familiar with it, I did get an Epson 60600 eco solvent printer in January and am loving it. So far, I have done pullup banners, pvc banners, canvas, stickers, and posters on it. The Z6 is hardly getting much use now because of it.

Hi, Just want to know what settings you use while printing on canvas? Like, in photoshop- the export settings to get maximum pixels and quality, the RGB or CMYK profile as i have printed so many print but there is always slight colour mis-match. The settings on printer as well. Like i use canvas less ink option. Thanx in advance.

Hello. With Photoshop, always set the document up with 300dpi and I always use RGB. On the printer, I just select the canvas option and don't worry about using less ink.

@@designgaff2025 Thankyou for your reply. But i think this machine uses a cmyk profile. As there are 6 colors. I have used RGB as well a few times but didn't get the color which was showing on the laptop screen

Honestly, I have always used RGB and have been happy with the results and have never had any complaints from customers :-)

I got them in Mr Price which is a shop in Ireland that sells just about anything. Any good art or stationary shop should sell them
