What if radio songs taught you something useful? Musician Charlie Mgee shows that music written for a purpose connects us to something deeper than the average top 40 hit. What's more - you don't need to be a musician to write songs that both strengthen memory and share knowledge.
"You Are What You Eat" written by Charlie Mgee, Mal Webb and Kylie Morrigan. Produced, mixed & mastered by Jim Moynihan (Spoonbill). Charlie Mgee is a ukulele-strumming troubadour who combines a love of music with a passion for sustainability. As founding member and leader of the world’s first ecological electroswing band, Charlie uses music to promote permaculture (a system of ecologically resilient design). His band, Formidable Vegetable, are pioneers of several new genres of music for change, including chook-hop, green-house, compostable-apocalypso and dungstep. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
