Real talk are there pretentious ass creative people out there who put down technical people for not being “creative” enough? I’ve mostly seen it the other way around especially since our society values doctors and scientists more than artists. Especially with so many parents wanting their kids to be doctors or lawyers or scientists or engineers. Let me know if you have had any experiences with that because I’m curious. My experience has been that in my college people who are math to science majors say that art majors only got into college because it’s an “easy major that accepts anyone and doesn’t take much work to get into”.
@hkc8544
4 жыл бұрын
Syasya Ames The only kind of “artists” that are valued are the famous ones, and unfortunately very few artists ever get to be famous and successful. For every success story you see out there, there are millions of others who are belittled and ridiculed for pursuing a “frivolous” profession. Doctors don’t need to become super famous to be taken seriously, because they save lives, the work they do is already extremely important. In that aspect yes, doctors are way, way more respected, even if they don’t get paid what they’re worth (in this capitalist society, who is? Doctors are still luckier than most)
@jackierosas9593
4 жыл бұрын
I’m a creative writing major with a history minor. If I had a quarter for every time someone tells me I should be a lawyer or a doctor or a teacher I’d be so damn rich. Then I show them my work. Or tell them the symbolism behind a tiny little Rose in a tiny little poem and they listen and for a moment they understand. It’s like in Dead Poets Society, Mr. Keating tells the students, “Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are all noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.” There is an inherent beauty in the sciences and math, which is why we see TV shows like The Good Doctor. We like seeing that beauty in another form, through art. And doctors use so much skill and creativity, as Morgan shows, that others may not realize. However, as with everything a balance is needed. Not everyone can or should be a doctor and not everyone can or should be an artist. Which is why it’s stupid to discredit those who choose a path in the humanities and those who choose the sciences. It takes all kinds. And luckily not everyone wants to be one thing because that would just be so darn boring.

No matter how low people are I wouldn’t do that to a person laying in a hospital bed that’s not the right time to bring up old stuff

Maybe, but the point was to induce a seizure in Morgan's mother and apparently emotions are a great way to induce one.

You know what I think...? I think that now with Melendez dead and Glassman working in a seperate clinic, it's time for Shaun to move on into a different hospital. Meet some new people, new places, new challenges, Morgan can't really go that much further in terms of character development, Carlie just disappeared, we get Lim's struggles and they can find Claire something to do so, the roads are taking us somewhere new I feel.

In most families, parents would be ABOVE proud to have their child become a doctor/surgeon. Most would HATE it if their child chose to become a simple "artist" compared to being a respected doctor. She achieved a great goal only a few people have the endurance and brains for and yet her mother is disappointed because she chose a "non-creative" career path? Like... seriously?

Although the doctors were keeping Morgan's mother awake in order to prompt a seizure so that they could learn more about the root cause, do you think it was very mean-spirited of Morgan to provoke the seizure by reading the negative review from the art critic?

Emotions can induce and or trigger seizures, she was stressing out her mom and making her feel overly anxious by talking about her pass that she clearly didn't want to talk about but Morgan ignored her signs of anxiety and because her anxiety spiked her electrical activity in her brain got disrupted which caused the seizure

This is not realistic at all🙄 with seizures you can’t go from screaming to seizing... there’s an aura phase before the seizure where the patient can be dazed and confused, not being able to vocalize or make any sentences at all

No, not always you are most likely thinking of the most common type of seizures called the tonic clonic seizures which is usually found in epilepsy. But there could have been 1000s reasons why this person had a seizure. And yes I know that it does appear that the eeg ( or other wise known as the Electroencephalography) is going rapid but that is because that person is indeed having a grandmal (from the looks of it). and the eeg is just picking up the movements. In order to truly find out if there were abnormal brain waves it would have to be looked at by a neroglicst. Anyways. There is some times no aura in patients that have seizures. In fact people have seizures while speaking. I personally have seizures and I dont have a aura that's why I have my service dog and she tells me when I have to get down cuz I just drop and have a seizures sometimes. But ya no hate I just thought I would educate. Thank you!

saish lett Grand mal isn’t a term used anymore. They’re called tonic clonic, and people with epilepsy get them but also a lot of other conditions like a tumor, increased cerebral pressure and meningitis. But usually, with an aggressive tonic clonic seizure the patient will get an aura of confusion, verbal, audio, and tactile disturbances. A lot of the time they cannot say what is about to happen to them. Which is why people don’t know or remember if they’re going to have a seizure. Also an epileptic nurse.
