At forty-five, I've learned to stand tall,
A single mother, strong through it all.
For twenty-four years, I've nurtured and taught,
Home-educated with love, each lesson I've wrought.
Life gets better as the years unfold,
At forty, I've found my courage bold.
No more nonsense, no more disguise,
I live my truth, no need for alibis.
Apologies, I leave behind,
In living my best life, I find
A strength, a joy, a quiet grace,
In every line etched on my face.
My health, my wealth, my sacred space,
I cherish each day, embrace the pace.
For I deserve to love, to laugh,
To walk my chosen, winding path.
To all the women who understand,
We've carried the world with gentle hands.
Life at forty, life anew,
We’ve earned the right to see it through.
To live, to laugh, to love with might,
To find our place in the soft twilight.
For we are warriors, mothers, friends,
And this is the age where the nonsense ends.
Here's to the laughter, the love we've sought,
To the battles won, and lessons taught.
At forty-five, I claim my part,
A woman strong, with a fearless heart.
