I recently returned from the "Imperial Cities of Morocco & the Sahara Desert" tour, and it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. From the get-go, our guide, Khalid Oukraou, ensured every detail was perfectly planned, making the entire journey seamless and incredibly engaging. Our adventure began in the vibrant streets of Marrakesh, where the bustling markets and beautiful architecture set the stage for what was to come. The Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca was a highlight, its grandeur and exquisite design left us awe-struck. As we moved through each city-Rabat, the ruins of Volubilis, and Fes-the history and culture of this beautiful country unfolded before us. Khalid's knowledge and passion for Moroccan heritage brought each site to life in a way that was both educational and genuinely fascinating.
The drive through Ifrane, with its surprising alpine scenery, was a refreshing change before the real adventure began-crossing the Sahara. The sunset 4WD ride across the dunes and watching the sand change a multitude of colours as the sun set was surreal, an absolute once-in-a-lifetime experience. The dramatic landscapes of the Todra and Dadès gorges were equally mesmerising, and lunch with a local family in the Rose Valley offered a heartfelt glimpse into the local way of life.Ending the trip in Marrakesh, we revisited the lively atmosphere of the city with a deeper appreciation after our journey through the mountains and valleys. Every aspect of this tour was thoughtfully curated, and Khalid’s leadership only enhanced our experience. I have already recommended this tour to all my friends and family. This is not a holiday for anyone who wants to spend more than an hour by the pool. If you’re looking for a trip that combines culture, adventure, and expert guidance, this is the one for you.
