“Know that I loved you. Know that it was not enough.”

I've been planning this for too long. I know we all imagine Baghra as an old lady with white hair, even though her hair is black, but bear with me: Eva Green as Baghra in the 'Demon in the Woods' timeline = perfection. And I just thought that little Bran would be the perfect little Aleksander, so here it is.
Can we talk about how Baghra is easily one of the best characters in the entire Grishaverse?
I mean, she was casted away because of her powers, went through hell to survive, raised a son without any kind of help and had to take many harsh decisions in order to keep them both alive. She would rather kill hundreds of innocents than give up their lives. Because she loved her son. Because she believed in him, in the things he would do some day, in the powerful Grisha he would become.
And in the end, her son took her eyes, and the last remaining parts of her that still wanted to live on in this terrible world.
I'm curious to know if there was a specific event that made her choose to live in that house by the Little Palace - she seemed to be a woman with powerful connections in the Demon in the Woods' short story. Maybe because it was the only safe place for her, an amplifier and thousand-years old Grisha with almost ancient knowledge.
Honestly, she's one of my favorite female characters: she's really strong, truly ruthless (c'mon, we know Zoya isn't ruthless, just blunt), wise, yet broken. Haunted by the things she did, but mostly haunted by the son she raised Aleksander to be. A product of her own ambition.
