A set of moders are dedicated to remaking it with skyrims engine. Bethesda said they won't remaster it as it would take the same time to make an entirely new game. Bethesda could of shut down the mod but they didn't. They gave the green light for the mod to be made

@Lord Gucci Banana You can also use Divine Intervention, Almsivi Intervention, and Mark/Recall spells to "fast travel." Divine Intervention teleports you to the nearest Imperial shrine and Almsivi Intervention teleports you to the nearest Tribunal temple. You can use Mark to set a specific location and use Recall to teleport back to it. I think there are a few places that Mark/Recall won't work, though.

This was the first rpg ive ever played, i remember when i was 6-7 playing this and i didnt really know how to do quest so i hunted crabs and rats and sold them at the shop in the first town you entered, i was stuck there for a while because the game was so deadly and leaving that town almost always got me lost or killed, i remember i wanted a place to sleep so i bought a sword with the crab money and snuck into someones house and killed them and lived there, after a couple weeks of playing i finally found out about the silt striders and i traveled to my first city, i remember being so overwhelmed , ahh how people can experience the game differently and still have an amazing time like no other, a true masterpiece

The 3 variations on the main theme reflect each game in a nutshell. Morrowind gives you the feeling of a grand adventure in an unfamiliar land. Oblivion is the tale of the war that is to come and the fall of the septim empire. Skyrim is about the struggle to overcome a legendary force of nature.

This theme always captured the grandness and wonder that The Elder Scrolls series is really about. The Skyrim and Oblivion themes sound too militant. This one captures the feeling that you've just walked out into the sun and seen the world for the first time.

I think each theme shows its own cultural. Oblivion's theme shows the strength and glory of the empire. Skyrim's theme shows the Nordic's cultural theme. While Morrowind takes place in an island, and the home of the Dummer/Dark Elves/Less violent than Men. Morrowind's theme is peaceful because of the story line: reunite the Dummer. Oblivion takes place in the heart of the empire. which is why it sounds militant. And Skyrim, a dark place with its own dark event: Civil War and The Return of the Dragons.
@Geroaergaroe

Parthurnaax Alduin Less violent than men ? The storyline is a bit less violent, and much more based on adventuring, as you are not set on some epic quest right on. But hell, Dumner are sicko. You don't remember that bar in Balmora, do you ?
@myguydied
9 жыл бұрын
Parthurnaax Alduin "Morrowind's theme is peaceful because of the story line: reunite the Dummer." It's part of what I miss in the later games and main themes, along with its mystery, beauty and sheer emotion. It's not fast or bold but it retains epic without having to shout in draconic or break out the brass section. Oblivion's theme is bold and grand at the start before it starts repeating the same refrain up and down several times (grand old quest to "relight the dragon fires" by going into the plane of Oblivion more times than necessary). Skyrim's is strong and very Wagnerian but bogs itself down in its own importance (the "civil war" is polarising but trapped in generics; Alduin's return is dire but also a bluntly Whovian - he was merely "put off" for a thousand years).

I just realised, after years of listening to this theme almost obsessively that the really heavy drum you especially hear during the start and end as well as throughout represents the beating of the Heart of Lorkhan, also often refered to as "the doom-drum" probably just me being a dumbass to not realise it sooner but it's amazing that there are still secrets hidden in plain sight.

You really sure about that? I was told that it's crap compared to Skyrim And Oblivion, but I doubt that.First of all it's a TES game.If it sucks then tell Bethesda to take over ESO because I'm still in the youth of my Elder Scrolls gaming history, and I want to play Morrowind. Also I'm going to take down a Skyrim Roblox video I just finished making 2 days ago for those of you that are still uncertain about if you should buy Skyrim. Yes, I'll forget about posting a 3 part review just because Morrowind was a fail in my eyes. I admit Skyrim's theme isn't as relaxing as Morrowind's because of it being the same thing except with deeper instrumentals and a Viking Chorus. Skyrim's theme is oh god, I can't think of the exact words, uhhh darn it it's there somewhere, oh yeah pathetic compared to Morrowind's layed back sound. I have high expectations for all TES games I have yet to play [Except the spin-offs because they don't have as much of a intresting sounding story as the main series and ESO does]

Ben Wiseman i have no idea what you just said there......
@CanadianGuillaume
10 жыл бұрын
Ben Wiseman Morrowind has aged for sure, but it was the superior product for its time. Even mods don't make it justice if you place it side by side with Skyrim. Morrowind's lore was more complex, more interesting, more nuanced, deeper and at the same time actually managed to be more epic than dragons (believe it or not). Not from the start of course, but as you progressed towards the end of the game, you uncovered a tale of truly epic proportion that has yet to be rivaled by most games. Who you are as a character in Morrowind is more interesting than being a Dragonborn (although being a Dragonborn is quite interesting and epic to begin with). Oblivion and Skyrim did not come close to the cultural uniqueness and variety Morrowind had. From North to South to East to West, every geographical region was astonishingly different and had pure originality. Skyrim was still better than Oblivion on that front, which pretty much felt homogeneous from North to South with very few personality and culture imprint to cities. The political strives were far more complex, detailed and rich in Morrowind than in Skyrim. In Skyrim you pretty much have the Imperial vs the rebels vs the Thalmor vs the Dragon apocalypse. In Morrowind you had the Dunmer great houses Hllaalu, Redoran, Telvanni (3 major ones all battling each others with VERY distinctive culture), you had the Imperial Cult conflicting against the Tribunal who were also both fighting against Daedra cults and the 6th Great House of Dagoth Ur and also the outgoing hunt against Necromancers. I'm talking about actual gameplay-involved conflicts, with dozens of quests for each conflicts, not just book and 1-2 quest talking about it. Also the lost civilization of the Dwemer was more fleshed out than any lost civilization were in Oblivion (Ayleids) or Skyrim (Falmer) (although Dawnguard fleshed it out a bit more in very interesting ways). There also was a lot of questing involved with the slavery of Khajiit and Argonians which were outstanding, on top of the frequent encounters with slave in random mines and dungeons. The expansions were stellar as well, especially if you consider that the Skyrim expansion brings you to the exact same Island as the Bloodmoon Morrowind expansion, since it was so beloved by fans. The only sad thing about Morrowind, is that Skyrim/Oblivion made some convenience improvements in gameplay that makes it hard to go back to Morrowind, especially with the very aged graphics. Other than that, time for time, Morrowind was a stellar innovation and an unparalleled discovery adventure of totally foreign, complex and unique cultures, while Skyrim was merely a great game. As far as music goes, I can't argue with that. Music is as beautiful as the experience you live hearing it. Since for me Morrowind was and will remain the greatest experience, its music will always be the most beautiful to me. But I can't deny that someone who hasn't played Morrowind will prefer music from a game he actually thoroughly loved.
@InkubusGames
10 жыл бұрын
This music was really hooked on me but since TES 3 was my first TES game I got full potential much later when I absorbed the game in more detail. It still amazes me how they created such detailed culture, a complete new culture of never existing people (in real life that is) that brought so much to the immersion. Then when I listen to this music again, it really has this feel as if music says "Come to this magical place and (at 1:08) absorb the full magic of this imaginary detailed world". TES 4 and 5 were good games but as if the magic is going away with each sequel made. It makes me sad... Let me listen to this music once again.

The changes they make to the theme also reflect the cultural differences between the provinces the theme is made for. the problem i have with morrowind is not the fast travel, thats fine. It's that there is no quest log and markers. Markers aren't even a big deal i wish i just had something telling me what to do
