@adamchurvis1

If you'd like a practical reminder of just how effing ignorant McNamara was, he's primarily responsible for the utterly stupid and internationally embarrassing "Forward Assist Device" on the right side of the M-16 (AR-15, M-4 Carbine, etc), which is the equivalent of LITERALLY hitting a jammed bolt with a hammer to try to force it into lock so the rifle can fire. Of course, that was McNamara's solution to his OTHER technical screw-up in Vietnam when he changed the kind of propellant used in the M-16's ammunition to one that burned "gummy" in tropical climates, and all without rigorous testing. Please, America-- no more "Numbers Men" running things!

I think with Trump being a celebrity and attracting a lot of good and bad attention in the news cycle, quite a lot of people would be familiar with current political figures. You have to admit though that several things are much better. Homosexual's can get married and not be discriminated against, racism is frowned upon, women have more opportunities. Even TV is as culturally impressive as it's ever been (and also worse than it's ever been) with shows like Louie, Breaking Bad, Fargo, and then total crap reality TV. There is just more variety but I don't think this generation is any worse than the previous ones... just different.

If you took that whole graph and scaled it over to the left and then extended a new line over to the right you'd discover Libertarian (or classical Liberal) and real free market capitalists with a large void inbetween what most go along with today. And so you can see by 1967, American's had already lost their way, and had stopped being able to understand their founding principles. Even within a comedy sketch, putting Sen. Mccarthy as a Right wing right winger by that nature would be putting him in the same category as the grand master of the KKK. If that makes any kind of sense to you, then you to have lost your way. The biggest mistakes here are the terms left and right wing. They are bogus terms. The extreme right and extreme left are one of the same, both absolute collectivists arguing about different details of State power. The mistake already missed then and today that is even worse, is the American's belief that their country is by its statutes, a democracy. Read what Jefferson had to say about that, and then if you want to be honest, reject your constitution vocally because you already have in method. America is not nor should it be a democracy.

we should also keep in mind that Western media is a tool of the US/EU/Nato alliance. Thus, the values held dear by the empire will be described in endearing terms: 'left', liberal, progressive, etc. Never mind that these values typically adhere to the classical definition of 'fascism'. Eg: one of the easiest constants over time is the elitist war against the Jews, who are always disparaged.
