Unmanned Aircraft Systems 15W (Operator) & 15E (Repairer)
Maryland Guard members from A Co., Det. 1, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems) show the training they do during duty weekends and annual training.
15W: Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operators remotely pilot of unmanned observation aircrafts that gather intelligence used in operational tactics. As intelligence specialists, they are integral to providing Army personnel with information about enemy forces and battle areas.
15E: Unmanned Aircraft Systems Repairers are primarily responsible for the maintenance functions on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. They keep the aircrafts ready to fly and ensure their ability to collect and transmit information.
