I stumbled across the name, Moses Powell, just doing KZitem surfing. Moses was a good friend and an amazing gentleman. I remember Anthony quite well too. But perhaps one of my funniest memories was, at a bar/restaurant. after a sponsored tournament put on by Pop Winn. Many of the men and women who were masters and judges of that tournament went out for dinner at a local place. A few of the lower level black belts tagged along. I was seated next to Frank Ruiz, beside him was Moses Powell. On the other side of me was Anthony, at the time, he was only a 3rd degree black belt. An individual had come into the bar with a severe chip on his shoulder and a bad attitude towards black people. He gravitated towards Anthony, took the seat beside him and basically started to be a dick! Kudos to Anthony for keeping his cool and not letting this ignorant moron get the best of him. At one point, the moron said, rather loudly, that he was a 3rd degree black belt and was going to kick Anthony's butt. It was at this point, I decided to have a little fun and interrupted the pending altercation. "Excuse me, I don't mean to interrupt, but he's a 3rd degree black belt too. He and several people in here are coming from a huge tournament." I then began my little role call, "The man sitting next to me is a 10th degree, the man next to him is also a 10th degree. The two gentlemen over there, they are a 6th and an 8th degree..." While all this is going on, Frank and Moses are sitting there, trying to hold back the laughter. After going around the room and naming off collectively over 200 degrees of black belt; with the morons eyes, like saucers, Moses spoke up and added, "And she's a 7th degree ... and if she doesn't kick your ass, we will!" This man didn't say a word. He didn't even finish his drink. He just stood up and, literally, slowly backed away and out the door. Without missing a beat, Anthony turned to me and said, "I'm a 3rd degree black belt and i'm going to kick your ass!" The entire place lost it and went up in uncontrollable laughter. I swear, it feels exactly you would expect to feel, if - like you've seen in a move - a gunman walking into a bar, filled with off duty, armed police officers, and trying to hold up the place. Thank you all for allowing me to relay this story about one of the times I shared with Moses.

Moses Powell was one of the FIRST masters I had ever heard about growing up in Crown Heights in the 70's My best friend, Steven Charles was one of his students. I was always impressed with the style, grace and power Powell demonstrated, and WHO COULD FORGET THOSE ONE FINGER ROLL OUTS!

watching your video on moses powell has inspired me to continue learning more about the art and what it has to offer
Permission to ask if any of the late Dr. Moses POWELL students have any film of the Professor Supreme Grandmaster Moses POWELL doing any of his kicking techniques. Thank you and I would be internally grateful.

I liked! In last time I have got an impression that there is no Martial Art groups in USA. Just stupid fighters and no ART. Here I saw really good technic. My respect!
