Yep, so typical for M408. My dad has the four-eyed export version of M408 (in dark blue paint, similar to the car in the video) and I liked the squealing :). Later we had a M412 / 1500ccm and the squealing was gone.

Die Plastteile einschließlich Lenkrad habe ich nachgefertigt. War ziemlich aufwändig. I made new plastic parts (volant included) as copies of the original parts some years ago. Took a lot of time.

I'm German and i'm living in Germany. My Moskwitsch 408 is still in very good condition and stored in garage. Unfortunatly i have a lack of time for my hobbies, hope it will be better when i become a pensioner in some years...

I also have a moskwitsch 408 but in a very poor condition and I am seriously thinking about restoring it. How do you still manage to find spare parts for your own ?
@bietfried
Thank you for your coment. To answer your question: I have some spare parts, collected from my youth on. My parents had in the seven- and eightees an 408 and it was (and is today next to hp citroen xantia) my most beloved car. We lived than in Schwerin (former Deutsche Demokratische Republik - in english GDR - the soviet occupied zone after lost wwII). When in the eighties i was an apprentice for becoming locksmith i restored my parents M408 complete. The car was quite rundown by massive corrosion. Here are my roots for repair and collecting spare parts. After reuniting Germany you could get spares for low price or often for nothing. Later and since e...y one can find spare parts in the internt, at least here in germany. There are also some dealers from ukrania, russia or bulgaria. Maybe that parts for bodywork and chromium parts are hard to find. The plastic paneels for dashboard and the steering wheel i reconstructed by my self. Very time intensive and not cheap. Where do you live and whats your native language? Best rgds.

@@годгев many years ago i had good original samples of each plastic part. I used them as positiv cores to make a negativ silikon rubber casting mold. After preparing the molds i filled them with 2 component polyurethan Gießharz (engl. something like synthetic resin) wich i colored with black pigments. After curing i grinded and machined them, then glued bolts and nuts where it was necessarry. Finally i painted them with black enamel for shiny appearance. It was a lot of work and the materials were quite expensive.

@hitlerkaput1981 No, that car has 4 gears foreward and 1 reverse. You may prove it at 00:51 onward. By the way, spelling of your name "hitlerkaput" is wrong. The German expression "kaputt" has to be written with "tt"
