Why was the forend of the stock sitting 1/2" off the receiver during the starting video?

I've had mine since 2021. The higher end one with williams fibre sights etc. Ihave 6 30-30's and this thing shoots lights out. By far the most accurate one I own and thus it's my bush gun and stand gun. I'm selling the Marlins and Model 94's. People are buying this stuff for $1500 bucks here. Madness I don't need them anymore.

That forend looks like it is about 1/2 inch farther away from the action than it should be.

I've owned one for a while, put boxes through it, and no feeding issues. I put on a skinner low pro sight, which is awesome and made it very accurate for an iron sight. I also removed the lever safety cause it affected my trigger pull. Great brush gun.

Discontinued in late 2021. Picked up last one from Cabelas Canada for $629 on sale, it was the marine coat version. Went out of stock after my online purchase. Waited for an email saying they didn't have it but it shipped to my store. Have about 3 boxes thru it and zero issues.

I bought the marine coated version with the grey laminate stock, that rear semi buckhorn sight was awful and the windage screw would come loose. You mentioned the safeties which made this thing a little rough to get a shot off if the stars weren’t all aligned. I gave it to a buddy and upgraded to a Marlin dark 336. I will say it was decent for a sub $500 brush gun.

To the people wondering why the foreend was loose, might be something to do with that missing screw

Great video as always, glad to see I’m not the only one who stumbles on “sling swivel stud” 😅. You’re right, Mossberg should re-release at 850$ with a laminate stock and different colours.

Mine shipped without a stock screw, and then Mossberg made me pay $14.97 to ship one to me. I wonder why they discontinued them.

I bought my 464 SPX new $500 US in 2019. You could replace that fore end screw for $10 give or take a couple bucks.

I had two of these pieces of garbage. The first one would not iron sight below 6 inches high at 100 yards. I got a replacement and it wouldn't fire every time. The stock coming loose at the begining of the video told me all i needed to know about the new models. I would not recomend one of these to anyone.

LOL, why'd they drill and tap it for scope bases then?

@@Huntinggearguy Because they are morons. There are ejection issues as you have also experienced. They throw stuff out and make you figure it out. It’s a mossberg dude. I had the same one and tossed it shortly after. Your better off with a cheap Rossi

I think that the popularity of the lever action rifle now is coming from the new laws that are popping out everywhere, magazine capacities restrictions, ban or looming bans on semi automatics rifles etc... Lever action rifles are less menacing to the general public and court ! Also they make a very decent self defense gun either in larger bore caliber or pistol caliber. Just saying...

The gov hasn't said lever actions are going to be exempt. So far, they've only indicated that they're limiting "long guns" to 5 rounds. That might mean that they'll be expecting us to chop the lever action tube mags. For the home defense angle: a lever can hold a lot but guns can't be loaded at home so you'd have to load it one at a time in case of emergency. Better to use a mag-fed rifle
