Hola, everyone! Welcome to this original docuseries about the Yucatan Peninsula. I had an opportunity of a life time to meet some incredible indigenous people in this land who still preserve the ways of their ancestors. Their friendliness, their Mayan culture, and language left such an impression on me that I would like to dedicate this docuseries to them. May the spirits of our ancestors protect us all.
The Yucatan: are you looking for a perfect combination of ancient civilization ruins, and crystal clear Caribbean waters with colonial cities all in one package? Say no more, here is the Yucatan Peninsula. Few regions in Mexico can dazzle in ways that the Yucatan and its people can. Charming, mysterious, and full of hidden surprises. It is a must on any traveler's list.
Uxmal is an ancient Maya city located in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, known for its remarkable architecture and intricate designs. The city was built in the Late Classic period of Maya civilization and is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in the region. Its pyramids, temples, and other structures showcase the advanced engineering and artistic skills of the Maya people.
Hacienda Yaxcopoil, on the other hand, is a historic plantation located near Uxmal that dates back to the 17th century. The hacienda was once a major producer of henequen, a fiber used to make rope and twine.
Together, they provide a fascinating window into the ancient Maya civilization and the colonial era of Mexico.
