I love the honesty, I have a number of Bows & Crossbows none of them "Top of the Line" but all researched & carefully chosen. I know an awful lot of "Gear Snobs" who only buy the most expensive gear, sometimes even without trying it first, they think "If it costs the most, it must be the best", as we know that's not always the case, the problem with them is that not one of them is more than "Mediocre" & some don't hunt or shoot that often, it's simply for bragging rights, which is stupid because I've got all the target trophys on my shelf won with my modest Bows & Crossbows. Excelent stuff, thank you.

Jörg I appreciate you taking the time to explain the cost to value differences that make people buy more expensive items despite them offering little extra value. One thing I have learned since I started shooting a bow as a young child was that the sights were not necessary for me to hit a target. In fact the more arrows I shot the more I realized that I could tell based on how my muscles felt and how the shots had landed before how my next show was going to go. Muscle memory cannot be bought on the internet and gadgets add a lot of extra weight, the steambow legolas allows one to focus on fewer muscular elements and takes the mystery out of each shot, far more useful than a range finder.

But beyond a certain point you start paying 10 times or even more for small improvements. Even applies to some of the stuff I've got for electronics, a functional soldering station, hot air station, lab power supplies, oscilloscope, multimeters, etc can be found pretty cheap these days. But if you want some convenience then there's a decent price jump and let's not talk about what happens if you want to go with the main name brand options for lab gear. Awesome- shot the target right off the archery backer! Joerg, it has been a pleasure to watch your very informative "sales program' via YT, it truly has. Every episode has had both great info and wonderful self deprecating humor- something not expected from an inventor and a merchant selling his wares. Your integrity and depth of market coverage should be an example, even to Ferrari dealers! You were both very complimentary to another creator for his rendition of your Fenris and did a great job of covering it's features, both the good and the not so good- Bravo, Mein Herr! Few merchandisers anywhere, let alone trolls, are nearly so honest and thorough! BTW, when a troll says "weight is a problem", us skinny elf types should listen up! How soon do you think SteamBow will be able to incorporate the new features into the next generation Fenris? I happen to agree, your Polish inventor friend did "take it a bit further" and deserves credit for it- one inventor to another and one merchant to another also.

If you use metal instead of plastic, you need to be very careful not to exceed the critical weight. I actually had to talk them into the fifth arrow as that added like 100 grams of weight. If you would make Lukasz's version from aluminum, it would come out WAY too heavy.

I started with a cheap beginner compound bow, added stabilizers, a better arrow rest and stuff. Then I got a real bow from a friend who were shooting at the world class level for a while, and all I can say is, it’s night and day. They are alike as in they are both compound bows, but that is where the similarities end :P Just by changing bow I went from getting more 7’s and 8’s and even 5-6’s to consistently hitting yellow on pretty much every arrow, JUST by getting a quality bow. Using the same release as I always used.

And then the Fenris comes along and you can hit bullseye with the cheapest bows in no time. I know, it basically is cheating. Then again, I always enjoyed a good cheat :)

@@jackhemsworth7515 aside longbows, starter bows and historical bows, you won't see much of wooden bows. Nowadays, even recurves mainly use ceramics, metal (aluminium mostly) and composite ... a matter of weight, hardness and elasticity.

Fascinating tech and concept . Sorry but as a Trad bow archer I must say that machine takes developed skill out of the equation and satisfaction . My Howard Hill longbow weighs under 3 pounds and can be carried forever without tiring .
