Unfair accusation. He thought the ball was in the fielder's glove and the play over. Do you expect hitters to run after the out is made? How about while the players are jogging off the field at the end of the inning. That too?

on Monday i was going against the best team in the league and they got a play on home but there was someone at second base so he was running to third which is my position so the catcher thew thew the ball to me and i tripped and i tagged the runner without the ball in my glove so he thought he was out while i was on the ground i saw the ball wasint in my glove so i grabbed it and got him out right in time while i was on the ground.

@@donarthiazi2443 My favorite player growing up was Mickey Mantle but Grandpa rather disdained home run hitters. The 3 players about whom he spoke with reverence were Cobb, Honus Wagner, and Tris Speaker. I'm 75 now and I identify with my Grandpa when I talk about the '50s Yankees with Casey Stengel as manager or watching Ernie Banks play for the woeful Cubs or the excitement when the White Sox won the '59 pennant. I'm old now but, should I make it to 80, THEN I'll be ancient.

@@donarthiazi2443 I thank you, sir. I only got to see Mickey live at Sox park once, about '68 when he was past his prime. He was at first base and it was 0-0 going to the bottom of the 9th. The first Sox batter hit a hard grounder that Mickey mishandled. A bunt and a single later, the Sox won. It was sad, he wasn't what he once was, but...DAMN he looked impressive at the plate. Mickey was my favorite but he best player I ever saw was Willie Mays. Before the game, he was shagging flies and catching them behind his back, easily. In BP, he was roping shot after shot off the walls and into the bleachers. That was in 1957, I was only 8, but it was something I'll never forget. PS, He did the same thing to Cub pitching as he did in BP, plus stealing bases. Again, the BEST I ever saw. Regards.

Due to the physics involved, I think you are right. He was still holding the bat at impact then milliseconds later it slipped from his grip. (That would be an interesting physics test. Could this generate a home run if he let go before hitting the ball).

You didn't explain WHAT was only the third time in baseball history. Answer: That the LFer threw out the runner by force play at first base. Of course no records were kept on this for the first many decades of baseball history, so we don't know that either.

@@cubsfanman-nx6pg Really not. He described the play as it happened, which was the ball ripping off the top of the third baseman's glove, and Casey mistakenly thinking that the third baseman caught the ball, which is why he stopped running. That is several pieces of information, none of which is related to baseball history or third time anything.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17) For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. (2 Corinthians 7:10) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5)
