Hello, folks!
Today we have gameplay on the Leopard 40/70. I'll say it right away - it's an unreal imbalance, judging by the feel of it. In theory, it was supposed to be an anti-aircraft gun, but it turned out to be some kind of annihilator... And it not only annihilates aircraft but also ground vehicles... Even heavily armored ones. It even survives under fire from multiple enemies.
Let's start with the drawbacks, there are a few:
- High silhouette, making it hard to hide the vehicle.
- Poor gun depression angles, and the negative effect is further amplified due to the high gun placement.
- Standard downside of vehicles with an open crew compartment: HE and HEAT shells, as well as bombs, usually one-shot us. Fortunately, not everyone carries such ammunition at our battle rating, and if they do, they load it too late.
And now, the advantages... and here's where it gets interesting (considering we have the Leopard chassis at a battle rating of 5.0):
- We are VERY fast, one of the fastest vehicles at this battle rating... if not the fastest. Not only do we have a decent top speed, but we also accelerate quite well. We break all possible timing, always arriving at the best positions first.
- Very little gun sway while moving, almost feels like stabilization.
- The autocannon NEVER overheats; you can shoot until the ammo runs out.
- Our chassis often absorbs shots, and shots to the crew compartment are survived thanks to the crew - we have five of them.
- The autocannon has enough penetration to go through heavy Soviet tanks like the KV-1, not to mention the T-34 and its modifications.
- High speed of chassis and turret rotation, off the charts for this battle rating.
In summary, we zip around like a light tank, take the best positions, survive single shots and crossfire like a heavy tank, effortlessly withstand planes, win any duels, and instantly react to any situation on the battlefield... all because this vehicle has an exceptionally low battle rating relative to its characteristics. In terms of feel, it's like the 2S38, but the difference in battle rating is colossal; it should be around 7.3 based on the feel, given the current 5.0 rating.
In general, enjoy it until it gets nerfed ;)
