A lot of people don't get roxy music they think it's all Bryan in his tuxedo and the smooth Avalon kind of stuff but it's not it really is a it of everything that's what makes them the band they are there's a definite rock edge Ie the great Paul Thompson a true rock drummer Phil Manzanera doing his rock thing David gill our stuff , mr rock n roll motorbikin Chris Spedding , Andy Makay with his 50s feel rock no roll sax , and then there's Mr Ferry on one hand the old fashioned crooner these foolish things etc , on the other hand the soul and blues boy fingerpoppin style , and then the rock star See the first two albums etc plus others it's really varied that's what makes them so good

Adore Bryan Ferry and all of the original Roxy Music players. It’s a tribute to Ferry that he has always retained excellent musicians; the first gig I saw him do was with Chris Spedding in 1975, three rows dead Centre from the front of the stage. Sublime gig. He’s a gentleman through and through. I’ve never been disappointed by a Roxy gig. May Mr Ferry continue to keep well and keep performing. As for these tracks, they’re two of my favourites. Beautiful recording!

So, this is slightly mislabelled - this is recorded on the Roxy Music 2001 World (reunion) Tour. I was lucky enough to see the Wembley show - (one of my best gigs ever) - the rhythm section complemented below is TGPT (one of the most underrated drummers in the world) and Zev Katz on Bass. You also had Roxy originals Phil Manzanera and, of course, Andy Mackay. I also think that this is some of Chris Spedding's best work. A vastly overused word, but this is an awesome line-up of one of the most influential bands ever . - VIVA

I say as musical composer... Roxy music by mean as Bryan Ferry they are absolutely the best, just more various as componiments, sentimental mood, fansy, full musical sound.. Except some awesome composition, Beatle did only short poor song... For the Roxy music represent an univers ("Tara" at first.. "As strong is your love?"... and even for the full musical first their style..). I say it whatever i come from beat style (i'm between major composer in melodic and for beat). Can't be any parallel between Roxy concert against a Beatles concert... it is as for a ocean and a lake !

D.r Manhattan I love Ferry and Roxy more than the Beatles, but honestly, Bryan is somewhat limited musically. That's actually part of what makes him great, though. He's arty, dark, romantic, classic, post-modern, and proto-punk all at once. It's his vision that's compelling; if you break the songs down, a lot of them are startlingly simple and similar.
