Amy Powney, creative director of clothing label Mother of Pearl, visits the BFI Southbank to talk, alongside the film's director Becky Hutner, about Fashion Reimagined, a shocking but inspiring look at the designer’s quest to create a sustainable clothing collection.
After winning the coveted Vogue award for the Best Young Designer of the Year, fashion designer Amy Powney decides to use the prize money to create a fully sustainable clothing collection, from field to finished garment - a task that is unbelievably challenging.
This urgent documentary follows Amy’s journey from outsider in the fashion world, to industry leader as she examines the complexities and waste of the global supply chain, whilst her own personal revolution becomes the precursor of a much bigger societal change.
Woman with a Movie Camera is generously supported by Jane Stanton.
Fashion Reimagined is backed by the BFI Doc Society Fund awarding National Lottery funding.
