This is the best version of 'Baby Love' - the studio version or other live versions are way behind it ... legendary ...

This Mother's Finest Live Album is still the most groovy funk rock recording I ever heard. I mean, give me something as peach solid as this, when they were truly over the top, 'cause I'd surely like to hear it. What a band!

I used to work myself up into a frenzy over Sweet Baby Jayne. She was such a sensational sexy vocalist, right up there with Chaka Khan, but never given the same respect bcuz her vocal range & timbre was too intense for studio recording. Mad, mad, mad props for this Queen of Thumping, hard driven Funk.

I'm posting this on practically every Mother's Finest vid... .Why? CAUSE I LOVE THIS BAND. LIKE I LOVE MY BOO. THEY SAVED ME WITH MUSIC. THEY DID IT THE WAY IT SHOULD BE DONE. ON THEIR OWN TERMS. You need proof that life is unfair? Mother's Finest was truly one of the greatest rock bands of the 70's, (at their height but into the 80's and beyond) playing a uniquely original yet commercially viable southern funk rock sound, two amazing lead vocalists and a sick band that could play and sing most anyone into the ground. They had hit records and many great songs/albums but major mainstream crossover success was denied them and no one ever deserved it more. Their audiences were people of all races, and back then white people saw rock shows and black people saw funk/soul shows. EVERYONE WENT TO SEE MOTHERS FINEST. BLACK, WHITE, GREEN AND MAGENTA. WE WERE ALL THERE. LISTEN TO THE AUDIENCE LOVING THEM ON THIS SONG! I love this band. I saw them play at the Capitol Centre in Landover Maryland many times in the 70's. They were the truth then and they are the truth to this day. If you don't know them you need to learn about them and BUY SOME RECORDS. Sorry, did I say records? I meant um, whatever ya'll buy these days. I still got my records. lol... A lot of records.

BBwjb3 I also saw them in the 70's at the Capital Center. I was introduced to Mother's Finest when my older brother Stevie came back from being stationed in Okinawa with one of the biggest boom boxes you can ever imagine. And he blasts this tape of Mother's Finest and it floored me! I also saw them several times in the 80s in Atlanta Georgia when I was living there. One of the best live bands ever!
