a single mother losing her only son is just gut wrenching, then dealing with cancer. This woman's bravery and thoughtfulness to share her sons health with others who are suffering is remarkable and when she broke down at his memorial her pain was so real I just burst into hard tears. Organ donation should be a no brainer and to me is an incentive to take care of my body.

I'm an organ donor but I'm poor so I would probably never be offered an organ in return if I needed it . I'm still a donor. But I find it interesting to think about how many people received organs who are not donors themselves. If I die and they can use my organs why wouldn't I let them? They are no use to me. I'm not sure why this mentality isn't shared. Even if I believe no one would help me. Two wrongs don't make a right.

It has alot to do with if medicare/medicaid/private insurance will pay for the anti rejection meds afterwards. They want give it to the best candidate, and if they give it to someone who cant afford 1k or more a month on meds, they have just lost that organ. Same thing that they dont give a liver to a current alcoholic. A alcoholic has to be 6mo free of alcohol.

What a mom. A very special lady. Agreeing to donate your son’s face to someone. Just imagine seeing and knowing your son is dead, and then to see his face appear on someone else, his face on a body moving around alive and well. Seeing him but knowing it’s not him. That’s breathtaking. That takes a lot. Very unselfish. Admirable.
